The present invention provides ink jet recording media suitable for use in making polymeric film laminates, and film laminates thereof. The recording medium comprises a substrate and two ink-receptive coating layers. The first ink-receptive layer comprises a water-soluble polymer and alumina hydrate particulate, and the second ink-receptive layer comprises a water-soluble quaternary amine-containing polymer. The ink jet recording media are capable of providing recorded images having good image quality waterfastness, and lightfastness.

This invention relates to electrophotographic recording media that are suitable for use in high speed color copiers and printers. The media are composites comprising: a) a film substrate having a front surface coated with a toner-receptive layer and a back surface coated with a polymeric layer, and b) a paper backing that is attached to the back surface of the film substrate. The toner-receptive layer comprises a mixture of a hydrophobic toner-compatible polymer and hydrophilic toner-compatible polymer. The paper backing has a Sheffield Smoothness greater than 70 SU.

Electrophotographic media for use in high speed color copiers and printers

This invention provides a pressure-sensitive adhesive article, such as a tape, comprising a backing and a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating. The adhesive coating comprises microspheres chemically bonded to a cross-linked polymer network. The adhesive coating is prepared from a mixture comprising a multifunctional aziridine cross-linking agent; a microsphere adhesive having carboxylic acid functional groups; and a binder adhesive having carboxylic acid functional groups. The cross-linked adhesive polymer network provides high cohesive strength and microspheres in the adhesive provide a method of controlling the peel strength. The pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes are particularly suitable for use on transcript imaging films, where they can be cleanly removed from the film.

Pressure-sensitive adhesive articles for use on transparent imaging films

An opaque pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) sheet or tape article, which comprises an anti-static coating on one side of a polymeric base film and an adhesive coating on the other side of the base film which can be opaque or transparent. If the base film is transparent, an opaque adhesive is coated onto the film to make it opaque. However, a clear adhesive can be coated onto the base film to make an opaque pressure sensitive adhesive tape if the base film itself is opaque. The total thickness of the pressure sensitive-tape ranges from about 0.4 mil to about 1.8 mil with a base film thickness no greater than about 1.4 mil. The pressure sensitive tape should have an opacity of greater than or equal to about 70%. The resistivity of the prepared sheet having an anti-static coating layer thereon should not be larger than about 10,&OHgr;/SQ.
