Disclosed is an electronic device including a sensor layer and a sensor driver that operates in a first mode for sensing a touch input and a second mode for sensing a pen input. The sensor layer includes a plurality of first electrodes, a plurality of second electrodes, a plurality of first auxiliary electrodes, and a plurality of second auxiliary electrodes. In the first mode, the sensor driver outputs a transmission signal to at least one of the plurality of first electrodes, receives a sensing signal from the plurality of second electrodes, receives an auxiliary signal from at least one of the plurality of first auxiliary electrodes and the plurality of second auxiliary electrodes, and compensates for the sensing signal based on the auxiliary signal.

An electronic device includes a sensor in which a sensing area and a peripheral area proximate to the sensing area are defined, and a sensor driver driving the sensor. The sensor includes first electrodes disposed in the sensing area and arranged along a first direction, and second electrodes arranged along a second direction intersecting the first direction. An input sensing device includes a sensor that includes a plurality of first electrodes and a plurality of second electrodes, and a sensor driver that operates in a first sensing mode and a second sensing mode. During the first sensing mode, the sensor driver generates a first sensing signal by transmitting transmission signals to the sensor and receiving reception signals from the sensor. During the second sensing mode, the sensor driver generates a second sensing signal by transmitting the transmission signals to the sensor and receiving the reception signals from the sensor. The sensor driver selects one of a plurality of compensation maps based on the first sensing signal, compensates for the second sensing signal based on the selected compensation map, and outputs the compensated sensing signal.

An electronic device includes a sensor layer, and a sensor driver operating in a first mode for sensing a touch input or a second mode for sensing a pen input. The sensor layer includes a plurality of first electrodes, a plurality of second electrodes, a plurality of first trace lines connected to first end portions of the plurality of first electrodes, a plurality of second trace lines connected to the plurality of second electrodes, respectively, and a plurality of third trace lines connected to second end portions spaced apart in the second direction from the first end portions of the plurality of first electrodes. The plurality of third trace lines are isolated from each other in the first mode, the second mode includes a charging driving mode, and at least some of the plurality of third trace lines are connected to each other in the charging driving mode.

A touch sensor apparatus may include a multiplexer including a first transistor connected to a first touch sensor and a second transistor connected to a second touch sensor, a touch driver connected to the first touch sensor through the first transistor and connected to the second touch sensor through the second transistor, the first touch sensor disposed at a first distance from the touch driver and the second touch sensor disposed at a second distance shorter than the first distance from the touch driver. A first on-resistance of the first transistor may be smaller than a second on-resistance of the second transistor.

A display device includes a display panel, an input sensor disposed on the display panel and sensing an input during a sensing frame period, a display controller receiving a vertical synchronization signal and a horizontal synchronization signal and controlling driving of the display panel in response to the vertical synchronization signal and the horizontal synchronization signal, and a sensor controller providing a transmission signal including a plurality of sampling periods to the input sensor. The display controller provides frequency information of a display frame period to the sensor controller using at least one of the vertical synchronization signal and the horizontal synchronization signal, and the sensor controller controls the number of the sampling periods of the sensing frame period based on the frequency information.

A display device includes a display panel configured to display an image. The display panel includes an electrode layer. An input sensing layer is disposed on the display panel. The input sensing layer includes a plurality of sensing electrodes including a first sensing electrode and a second sensing electrode. A plurality of signal lines is electrically connected to the plurality of sensing electrodes. The plurality of signal lines includes a first signal line electrically connected to the first sensing electrode and a second signal line electrically connected to the second sensing electrode. The first signal line has a length different from a length of the second signal line. A distance between the first signal line and the electrode layer is different from a distance between the second signal line and the electrode layer.

Display device including signal lines

A display device includes a display panel configured to display an image, an input sensor disposed on the display panel to sense an input and including a first area and a second area, and a sensor controller connected to the input sensor. The input sensor includes first sensing electrodes disposed in the first area, second sensing electrodes disposed in the second area, and a boundary sensing electrode disposed to overlap a boundary between the first and second areas. The boundary sensing electrode forms a mutual capacitor with one or more of the first sensing electrodes that are adjacent to the boundary sensing electrode, and forms a mutual capacitor with one or more of the second sensing electrodes that are adjacent to the boundary sensing electrode.

A display device includes: a display panel configured to display an image; an input sensor on the display panel; an approach sensing electrode arranged around the input sensor; and a sensor controller connected to the input sensor and the approach sensing electrode, wherein the sensor controller is configured to drive the input sensor in a first driving mode during a first input sensing frame and to drive the input sensor in a second driving mode during a second input sensing frame, and the sensor controller is further configured to provide an uplink signal to the approach sensing electrode in response to the input sensor operating in the first or second driving mode.
