A light detection device may include: a light receiver comprising a plurality of light detectors configured to receive light emitted from a light emitter toward an object and reflected by the object; and a signal processor configured to process an electrical signal according to the light received by the light receiver. The light receiver includes at least one light receiving area, wherein each of the at least one light receiving area includes a plurality of sub-light receiving areas, and the plurality of light detectors are disposed in the plurality of sub-light receiving areas, respectively. The signal processor includes a plurality of transimpedance amplifiers that have a one-on-one correspondence with the plurality of light detectors, and at least one signal summer that has the one-on-one correspondence with the at least one light receiving area.

Light detection device, lidar device including the same, and method of measuring distance

A light detection and ranging (LiDAR) apparatus with a wide viewing angle includes: a first rotatable mirror array including a first plurality of inclined mirrors arranged in a circumferential direction; a plurality of light sources configured to emit light toward the first rotatable mirror array; a second rotatable mirror array including a second plurality of inclined mirrors arranged in the circumferential direction, the second rotatable mirror array facing the first rotatable mirror array to reflect the light reflected by the first rotatable mirror array to an outside of the LiDAR apparatus; and a photodetector configured to detect the light reflected by the second rotatable mirror array, wherein the plurality of light sources may be provided in a plurality of sections into which an angle range of 180 degrees or more is divided in equal intervals in the circumferential direction.

Provided is a light detection and ranging (LiDAR) device including a light transmitter including a plurality of light sources, each of the plurality of light sources being configured to emit light toward an object, a light receiver including a plurality of light detection elements, each of the plurality of light detection elements being configured to detect reflected light reflected from the object that is irradiated with the light emitted by the plurality of light sources, and the light receiver being configured to remove crosstalk from second detection information output by at least one light detection element of the plurality of light detection elements based on first detection information output by any one of remaining light detection elements of the plurality of light detection elements, and a processor configured to obtain information on the object based on the second detection information with the crosstalk removed.

LiDAR device and method of operating the same

An optical scanner includes at least one light source configured to emit light, a steering unit configured to perform scanning in a first direction based on the light emitted from the at least one light source, and a polygon mirror configured to perform, by using the light output from the steering unit, scanning in a second direction different than the first direction based on a rotation of the polygon mirror. The steering unit includes a plurality of first prisms, and each of the plurality of first prisms includes an incident facet configured to pass the light emitted from the at least one light source, and an output facet configured to refract and output the light. The polygon mirror includes a plurality of reflective facets, and each of the plurality of reflective facets is configured to that reflect the light output from the steering unit.

An optical device according to an embodiment may include: a plurality of light sources configured to emit laser beams; a light direction changing unit comprising at least one of a prism and a mirror, provided on traveling paths of the laser beams, and configured to focus the laser beams at one point by changing travelling directions of the laser beams to form constant angles between the traveling paths of the laser beams; and a scanning mirror configured to perform two-dimensional scanning by reflecting the laser beams received from the light direction changing unit.

Light detection and ranging device and method of driving the same

A method of acquiring distance information about a subject is provided. The method may include: determining a number of a plurality of lights to be emitted to the subject; emitting the determined number of the plurality of lights to the subject; modulating the plurality of lights returning from the subject; determining a weight based on at least one of the plurality of lights emitted to the subject and an emission order of the plurality of lights; and acquiring distance information about the subject by applying the weight to each of the modulated plurality of lights. According to the method, an error is efficiently reduced based on the number of the plurality of lights projected onto the subject.

Method and device for acquiring distance information

Provided are a three-dimensional (3D) camera including a wavelength-variable light source for directly measuring transmittance and a method of measuring the transmittance. The 3D camera includes, as well as a light source, a transmission type shutter, and an image sensor, and a wavelength-variable light source capable of irradiating a light with a variable wavelength without being thermally affected by the light source, the image sensor, and the transmission type shutter. The wavelength-variable light source may directly measure a change in transmittance by irradiating light toward the transmission type shutter while the 3D camera operates.

A depth image generating apparatus includes a light source configured to emit light; an optical shutter provided on a path of the light reflected by an object and configured to modulate a waveform of the reflected light by changing a transmissivity of the optical shutter with respect to the reflected light; a driver configured to apply a driving voltage to the light source and a driving voltage to the optical shutter; a temperature measurer configured to measure a temperature of the optical shutter; a controller configured to control driving voltages; and a depth information obtainer configured to generate an image corresponding to the reflected light that passes through the optical shutter, extract a phase difference between a phase of the light emitted by the light source to the object and a phase of the reflected light, and obtain depth information regarding the object based on the phase difference.

Method and apparatus for generating depth image

An optical device includes an active layer that includes at least two outer barriers and at least one coupled quantum well that is inserted between the at least two outer barriers. Each coupled quantum well includes at least three quantum well layers and at least two coupling barriers that are respectively provided between the at least three quantum well layers. Thicknesses of two quantum well layers disposed at opposite end portions of the at least three quantum well layers are less than a thickness of the other quantum well layer disposed between the two quantum well layers disposed at the opposite end portions. A bandgap of the two quantum well layers disposed at the opposite end portions may be higher than a bandgap of the other quantum well layer disposed between the two quantum well layers.
