A battery pack is provided, including at least one layer of battery cells in a height direction thereof. Each layer of battery cells includes either or both of a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns of battery cells. The battery cells in each row are arranged end-to-end in a length direction of the battery pack. The rows are arranged in a width direction of the battery pack. At least a part of the battery cells in each row are staggered with corresponding battery cells in an immediately adjacent row of battery cells. The battery cells in each column are arranged end-to-end in the width direction of the battery pack. The columns are arranged in the length direction of the battery pack. At least a part of the battery cells in each column are staggered with corresponding battery cells in an immediately adjacent column of battery cells.

A method and device for assigning channels for a multi-radio mesh network is disclosed. The network comprises multiple mesh routers. Each mesh router has multiple radios, wherein, between two mesh routers that are within each other's radios transmission ranges, there is a pair of unidirectional links attached to them whose directions are oppositional each other. The method includes following steps: measuring link load of each link by measuring average busy time for the link to transmit data; and assigning a channel to each link based on the link load of the link.

Method and apparatus for assigning channels for a multi-radio wireless mesh network

Methods, devices and system for access point facilitated fast handoff are provided. Each access point (AP) in a wireless local area network is provided with a primary interface and a secondary interface wherein the primary interface performs normal communication with user terminals and broadcasts standard beacon frames on its working channel, and the secondary interface broadcasts extended beacon frames on working channels of neighbor APs sequentially. The extended beacon frame includes at least information of BSSID, SSID, working channel and the like of the primary interface of the corresponding AP. The user terminal may receive the standard beacons from the serving AP it is communicating with and the extended beacons from the neighbor APs, and according to the two kinds of beacons, the terminal may calculate the signal quality with the primary interface of the serving AP and the signal qualities with the neighbor APs at the current position. By an algorithm of comparing the signal qualities of the best neighbor AP and the serving AP, the terminal may accurately and quickly determine whether to perform handoff with minimized cost.

An energy-absorbing hood assembly for a vehicle includes upper and lower layers and a middle panel. The upper and lower layers have first and second interface surfaces, respectively. The middle panel has opposing first and second surfaces defining a corrugated profile having a plurality of bonding surfaces, the bonding surfaces being attached to the first and second interface surfaces to thereby define a plurality of laterally oriented channels. The corrugated profile further defines a height and wavelength along a substantial portion of the hood assembly, each being configured to be variably tunable to provide different predetermined levels of absorption and attenuation of kinetic energy imparted to the hood assembly by objects upon impact therebetween. Preferably, the hood assembly also includes an upper hood panel having an inner surface secured to the upper layer. Ideally, the corrugated profile is a trapezoidal waveform profile.

An energy-absorbing hood assembly for a vehicle includes upper, lower, and middle panels. The upper and lower panels respectively include first and second interface surfaces. The upper panel is preferably secured to an inner surface of an outer panel. The middle panel has opposing first and second surfaces defining an asymmetric waveform profile, preferably having a polygonal geometry. The middle panel member is secured to the first and second interface surfaces at preselected locations along the upper and lower surfaces, thereby defining a plurality of laterally oriented asymmetric channels. Energy absorbing vehicle hood assembly with asymmetric sandwich inner structure

An energy-absorbing hood assembly for a vehicle includes an inner layer operatively secured to an upper layer having a first interface surface. The inner layer has opposing first and second surfaces defining a sinusoidal profile that is oriented to extend from the forward end of the vehicle towards the rearward end of the vehicle. The sinusoidal profile includes varying amplitudes and wavelengths along different regions of the hood assembly. The amplitudes and wavelengths are individually configured to provide regionally distinct predetermined levels of absorption and attenuation of kinetic energy imparted to the hood assembly by an object upon impact therebetween. Preferably, the hood assembly also includes a lower layer having a second interface surface; wherein the inner layer has a plurality of bonding surfaces attached to the first and second interface surfaces to thereby define a plurality of laterally oriented channels.
