This disclosure provides one or more computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions for performing a method. The method includes storing geometry data representing a primary geometry of a cardiac envelope that includes nodes distributed across the cardiac envelope and geometry of a body surface that includes locations where electrical signals are measured. The body surface is spaced apart from the cardiac envelope. The method also includes perturbing the primary geometry of the cardiac envelope a given distance and direction to define the perturbed geometry of the cardiac envelope including nodes spaced from the nodes of the primary geometry. The method also includes computing reconstructed bipolar electrical signals on the nodes of the primary cardiac envelope based on the electrical signals measured from the body surface and the geometry data, including the primary and perturbed geometries of the cardiac envelope.

Provided herein are methods for imaging and diagnosing at least one disorder in a patient utilizing diffusion basis spectrum imaging MRI with extended isotropic spectrum (DBSI-EIS). The methods may be used as a tool to image and diagnose heterogeneities within tumors. As a result, different tumor types can be detected, distinguished from one another, and individually quantified without the need to inject exogenous contrast agents.

Quantitative differentiation of tumor heterogeneity using diffusion MR imaging data

Methods and systems for diagnosing a condition of a central nervous system are provided. A method includes providing a DBSI-MRI data set obtained from the central nervous system of the subject, and transforming the DBSI-MRI data set to obtain at least one DBSI biomarker value. The method further includes comparing each DBSI biomarker value to at least one corresponding threshold value from a diagnostic database to obtain a relation between each DBSI biomarker value and the at least one corresponding threshold value, and diagnosing the condition according to at least one diagnostic rule, wherein each diagnostic rule defines a candidate condition in terms of the relations between the at least one DBSI biomarker value and the at least one corresponding threshold value.

Noninvasive three-dimensional imaging of uterine electrophysiology

In an example, an n-dimensional method of fundamental solution (MFS) is used to compute reconstructed electrical activity on a cardiac envelope based on geometry data and electrical data, where n is a positive integer greater than three. The electrical data represents electrical activity measured non-invasively from a plurality of locations distributed on a body surface of a patient, and the geometry data represents three-dimensional body surface geometry for the locations distributed on the body surface where the electrical activity is measured and three-dimensional heart geometry for the cardiac envelope.

Multi-dimensional method of fundamental solutions for reconstruction of electrophysiological activity

A method of performing diffusion basis spectrum imaging (DBSI) within a tissue of a patient using diffusion magnetic resonance data acquired from a portion of the tissue is disclosed. The diffusion magnetic resonance data includes a plurality of diffusion MR signals associated with one voxel and the one voxel represents an image of the portion of the tissue. The method includes computing an isotropic diffusion portion of the diffusion magnetic resonance data representing isotropic diffusion within the one voxel and dividing the isotropic diffusion portion, which includes a fraction of the diffusion magnetic resonance data representing isotropic diffusion, into a restricted isotropic diffusion portion and a non-restricted isotopic diffusion portion. The restricted isotropic diffusion portion includes a fraction of the isotropic diffusion portion with an apparent diffusion coefficient of less than 0.3 and the non-restricted isotopic diffusion portion includes a fraction of the isotropic diffusion portion with an apparent diffusion coefficient of at least 0.3.

Diagnosis of central nervous system white matter pathology using diffusion MRI

A non-transitory computer readable medium stores instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform a method that includes computing a transfer matrix representing a relative influence that each respective electrode location for measuring electrical potentials on a patient's body has on an estimation of electrical potentials for locations on a surface of interest prior to the measuring of electrical potentials at the respective electrode locations and receiving electrical potential measurements measured via a plurality of electrodes at respective electrode locations on the patient's body. The method also includes computing the estimation of electrical potentials for the locations on the surface of interest based at least in part on the received electrical potential measurements and the computed transfer matrix and generating image data representing the estimation of electrical potentials.

Systems and methods for on-site and real-time electrocardiographic imaging (ECGI)

Determining diffusivity of multiple diffusion components within a tissue using diffusion magnetic resonance data representing a volume of the tissue. A plurality of candidate fibers having a direction is defined within the volume. A possibility coefficient is calculated by a processor for each candidate fiber of the plurality of candidate fibers based on the magnetic resonance data and the direction of the candidate fiber. The possibility coefficient represents a likelihood that the candidate fiber exists in the volume. Candidate fibers associated with a possibility coefficient greater than a threshold value are selected by the processor to create one or more probable fibers. For each probable fiber of the one or more probable fibers, an axial diffusivity indicating a diffusion of water in the direction of the probable fiber and a radial diffusivity indicating a diffusion of water perpendicular to the direction of the probable fiber are calculated by the processor. The diffusivity of isotropic diffusion component and the volume ratios of each fiber component and isotropic components are calculated.

A computer-implemented method for electrocardiographic imaging (ECGI) is provided. The method includes computing a transfer matrix, measuring a plurality of electrical potentials, and computing an estimation of electrical potentials on a surface of interest based at least in part on the measured potentials and the computed transfer matrix. The transfer matrix computing step is performed prior to the measuring step.

Noninvasive systems and methods are provided for determining electrical activity for a heart of a living being. A processor is configured to meshlessly compute data that represents heart electrical activity from a set of noninvasively measured body surface electrical potentials. This is accomplished using data that describes a geometric relationship between a plurality of locations corresponding to where the body surface electrical potentials were measured and the heart.
