A card tray includes a base portion having a receiving cavity; an operating portion located at a rear end of the base portion; and a metal shell riveted to the operating portion. The operating portion together with the metal shell is insert-molded with the base portion to affix the operating portion to the base portion. The metal shell has plural legs affixed to the operating portion and embedded in the base portion.

An electronic card connector, defining an insertion direction, an ejection direction, and a transverse direction perpendicular to the insertion direction, includes an insulative housing and a number of terminals retained in the insulative housing. The terminals include a row of first contacts disposed along the insertion direction. Each first contact has a first affixed portion and a first contacting portion located at a peak therein. Each of the first contacts extends along the transverse direction. The first contacting portions of the neighboring first contacts are located offset along the insertion direction. The first contacting portions and associated first affixed portions of the first contacts are distanced differently in the transverse direction.

An electrical connector includes: an upper and lower terminal modules each including plural terminals; a metallic plate secured between the upper and lower modules; a metallic bracket accommodating the secured metallic plate and upper and lower terminal modules; and an insulative body insert-molding the metallic bracket with the secured metallic plate and upper and lower terminal modules to form a tongue exposing the terminals of each of the upper and lower terminal modules. The metallic bracket contacts the metallic plate and borders the tongue.

An electrical connector includes a terminal module enclosed within a metallic shield wherein the terminal module includes an insulative housing with two rows of contacts and a metallic shielding plate therebetween. The terminal module includes a rear portion and a front portion extending forwardly from the rear portion. The shield includes a stopping wall with an opening extending therethrough in a front-to-back direction so that the rear portion of the terminal module abuts against the stopping wall while the front portion of the terminal module extends through the opening forwardly.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of terminals and a metallic shielding plate s retained in the insulative housing, and a shielding shell attached to the insulative housing. The insulative housing has a base portion and a tongue portion extending forwardly from the base portion along an insertion direction. The terminals define a number of first contacts and second contacts. The first contacts and second contacts respectively define a pair of grounding contacts located at two sides thereof. Each grounding contact of the second contacts has a hook portion bent upwardly and extending inwardly from outmost edge thereof and located above the grounding contact of the first contacts located at the same side. A free end of the hook portion is contacted with the grounding contact of the first contacts at same side physically and electrically.

An electrical connector having a metallic base insert-molded with an insulative base to initially form a basic unit and successively with an internal PCB inserted in a frame structure of the metallic base to form an intermediate assembly with the reinforced mating portion thereof. An insulator is applied upon a front region of the intermediate assembly to secure the internal PCB and the basic unit together and commonly form a sub-assembly. A die-casting metallic shield encloses the sub-assembly and secured to the metallic base to commonly form the final receptacle connector.

An electronic card connector () includes an insulative housing (), a number of terminals (), and a shielding shell (). Each terminal includes an elastic portion extending upwardly and a contacting portion (). The elastic portion is resiliently deformable in an up-to-down direction. A first part of the elastic portion is located in a first plane, and a second part of the elastic portion is located in a second plane forming a sharp angle with the first plane. The second part has a connecting portion () and a pair of frame portions () connected with two free ends of the connecting portion. Each terminal defines a front point and a rear point respectively located on the elastic portion. The front point is located at the front of the contacting portion and the rear point is located at the rear of the contacting portion along a card-inserting direction.
