The present invention relates to a hydrocracking catalyst based on hierarchically porous beta-zeolite, a method of preparing the same, and a method of producing bio-jet fuel from triglyceride-containing biomass by use of the hydrocracking catalyst, and includes methods comprising preparing a hydrocracking catalyst by supporting a metallic active component on a hierarchically porous beta-zeolite support, and converting n-paraffins, produced from triglyceride-containing biomass, into bio-jet fuel by hydrocracking in the presence of the prepared hydrocracking catalyst. When the hydrocracking catalyst based on hierarchically porous beta-zeolite is used, the residence time of the reactant and the product in the zeolite crystals may be reduced due to additional mesopores formed in the zeolite, and thus bio-jet fuel may be produced in high yield from n-paraffin feedstock produced from triglyceride-containing biomass.

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing organic acid by high-efficiency fermentation, which comprises the steps of continuous culture of organic acid bacteria and collection of organic acid produced from the culture employing a cell-recycle multiple-stage continuous fermentor with serially connected fermentors, each of which comprises a fermentor containing a ferment container, temperature controller, stirrer, and pH controller; pumps for efflux-circulation of media from the fermentor; and, cell separator for separation and circulation of media from the pumps. According to the present method, the high-concentration lactic acid of 90 g/L can be produced with the high productivity of 50 g/L/h, which can reduce the facility cost and production cost in the bulk manufacturing process. In addition, the present invention can be effectively applied to the production of other organic acids such as acetic acid, formic acid, citric acid, malic acid, maleic acid, fumaric acid, and succinic acid, which show the end-product inhibition.

Method for manufacturing organic acid by high-efficiency continuous fermentation

The present invention relates to a sealed high-density on-line measuring device for spectrophotometer whose cuvette holder is linked to a reactor, which comprises a base; a fixed plate for light passage, which is vertically placed on the base; a moving plate for light radiation, which is vertically placed on the base at an opposite side to the fixed plate so that it can slide on the base horizontally; inlet and outlet for sample passage, each of which is positioned at outer side of the moving plate; a metal ring linking the fixed plate and the moving plate; and, upper and lower shielders each of whose ends is in contact with the fixed plate and moving plate, respectively, to give a sealed space. In accordance with the scaled on-line measuring device of the invention, high concentrations of samples in solutions can be measured without dilution, by way of employing a newly designed cuvette holder in a spectrophotometer fitted to a reactor.

CYKS1 (KCTC 0431BP) capable of selective removal of organically bound sulfurs from carbonaceous fossil fuel such as petroleum and coal by cleaving bonds between carbon and sulfur atoms in the said sulfur-containing organic compounds, and a method for biological desulfurization using this strain at the room temperature and atmospheric pressure. Since Gordona sp. CYKS1 (KCTC 0431BP) utilizes various organic sulfur compounds in fossil fuel besides dibenzothiophene as a sole sulfur source, the method for biological desulfurization employing the Gordona strain has advantages over the conventional chemical methods as followings: The desulfurization can be carried out at a mild condition; the cost for installation and operation of equipments can be reduced; and, the desulfurization of highly complex organic sulfur compounds can be realized.

Norcardia sp. CKYS2 ((KCTC 0432BP) capable of desulfurizing fossil fuel containing organic sulfur compounds

A bubble column reactor with at least one radial dispersing device to radially sparge a gas phase into a liquid phase in the bubble column. The reactor comprises four parts: bubble column body 4, radial dispersing device, a mounting plate, and a head plate. The radial dispersing device is employed to radially disperse the gas phase into the liquid phase. It has a porous wall and an outer threaded port 2 and is vertically installed in the bubble column 4. A mounting plate is employed to allow the dispersing devices 1 to be vertically installed. A head plate 8 is employed to cover the bubble column 4 and have ports 9 for sampling, exhaust gas and sensors. The bubble column reactor according to this invention provides advantages in that it can generate small bubble sizes, thus increase the residence time of the gas phase even under relatively high gas velocities and also relatively high viscosities of the liquid reactant, thereby improving the mass transfer performance of the reactor.
