A stain removal accessory that cooperates with a stain removal device for treating a stained area is attached to a front head of the stain removal device, namely to a water and/or steam venting face of the stain removal device. The apparatus comprises an evaporation surface (), a heater () disposed adjacent to the evaporation surface to heat the evaporation surface, a water inlet () positioned relative to the evaporation surface so that water is fed onto the evaporation surface from the water inlet and forms a film on the evaporation surface such that the film is evaporated from the evaporation surface, and a scale collection region () positioned such that, during use of the apparatus, scale dislodged from the evaporation surface falls away from the evaporation surface into the scale collection region. The present application relates to apparatus for generating steam. It comprises a water inlet, a evaporation surface, and a heater disposed adjacent to the evaporation surface to heat the evaporation surface to a predetermined temperature such that water fed onto the evaporation surface via the water inlet forms a film on the evaporation surface and is evaporated. A tilting mechanism () connects the support () to the treatment board (), the tilting mechanism () being operable to allow the treatment board () to be fixed in multiple operating orientations between vertical and horizontal positions. A reversible generator is in the base unit (), and at least one vent () is in the treatment surface () through which air and/or steam from the reversible generator is passable. A fluid pathway () fluidly connects the reversible generator and the at least one vent () irrespective of the operating orientation of the treatment board. This stand garment steamer improves ironing experience of users.

The present application relates to a method of treating a fabric article so that it has a characteristic smell normally associated with garments that have been exposed to natural sunlight, the method comprising positioning a fabric article () to be treated in an enclosure () and irradiating said fabric article positioned in said enclosure with ultraviolet light with a wavelength of between 280 nm and 400 nm and so that it is subjected to a predetermined radiant exposure. The invention relates to a device for generating steam. The device comprises a water outlet arrangement having an open end to spray water onto a water receiving arrangement. The water receiving arrangement comprises an interior surface defining a chamber in which the open end is arranged so that water sprayed from the open end is sprayed onto the interior surface. The device further comprises a heating element for heating the interior surface up to a temperature for generating steam from water sprayed on the interior surface. The interior surface is formed by two separate cavities, the open end comprising a spray nozzle received within each cavity so that each spray nozzle sprays water onto a region of the interior surface, each region being defined by the cavity in which a respective spray nozzle is received. This allows the water sprayed by the water outlet arrangement be more uniformly spread on the interior surface, leading to more effective heating and more steam may be generated per unit time.

A steam path extends from the steam outlet to convey steam, and a filter unit () is positioned in the steam path. The filter unit has a filter cartridge () removably mounted along the steam path having a cartridge housing, a filter medium received in the cartridge housing.
