A method and structure for solving a Doppler ambiguity problem in a time-division-multiplexed (TDM) frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar apparatus are proposed. In a frame of a waveform signal transmitted by one transmitting antenna in the TDM FMCW radar apparatus, at least three consecutive chirps having different periods are included for each chirp loop. A Doppler frequency may be determined from phase difference values between the three consecutive chirps measured from an FMCW radar signal received at a receiving antenna. The at least three consecutive chirps having different periods are configured to differ in at least one of an idle time between the chirps or a ramp time of the chirp.

TDM FMCW radar apparatus and signal processing method of apparatus

In an in-cabin radar apparatus, transmitting antennas are disposed at one side in a direction parallel to a control circuit and disposed in a line in a vertical direction, and receiving antennas are disposed at one side in a direction perpendicular to the control unit and disposed in a line in a horizontal direction. Each transmission side feed line may be perpendicularly connected to one of the transmitting antennas, and each receiving side feed line may be perpendicularly connected to one of the receiving antennas. Each of a distance between the transmitting antennas and a distance between the receiving antennas may be implemented to be less than or equal to half of a transmitting and receiving wavelength.

In-cabin radar apparatus

Transmitting antennas and receiving antennas are arranged such that a plurality of virtual antennas have the same position in a time-division-multiplexed (TDM) frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar apparatus. At least three peculiar chirps, at least one of which is included in a chirp loop of each of waveform signals transmitted by the plurality of virtual antennas having the same position, are respectively positioned in consecutive time slots and have different periods. A Doppler frequency may be uniquely determined from phase difference values between the at least three peculiar chirps respectively positioned in consecutive time slots measured from FMCW radar signals received at the plurality of virtual antennas.

The display area comprises middle, first side, and second side regions. The data lines comprise first, second, and third data lines disposed in the middle, first side, and second side regions, respectively. The first dummy lines comprise a first data detour line disposed in the first side region and adjacent to a part of the second data line, and auxiliary lines. A radio detection and ranging (RADAR) level gauging apparatus measures a level of liquid in a storage tank. The apparatus includes an antenna that emits a RADAR signal and receives the signal reflected from the level interface. The antenna has a lens and an absorber to reduce side lobes of the signal. The apparatus further includes a controller which performs transmission control, reception control, and level measurement control using the received RADAR signal. The distance from the emission position of the RADAR signal to the level interface is measured, and thus a level can be determined.
