A curtain airbag of a vehicle is provided adjacent to the roof of the vehicle in a folded state, is configured to have a shape that unfolds downward between an inner side surface of the vehicle and an occupant when the vehicle crashes, and includes an outer panel that proceeds toward the side surface of the vehicle and an inner panel that proceeds toward the occupant upon expansion. The curtain airbag further includes a head support part configured to have a shape in which an expansion thickness, which is defined by the outer panel and the inner panel in a portion that the head of the occupant contacts due to the car crash, gradually increases toward the front of the vehicle, so as to prevent the head of the occupant from rotating while moving toward the front of the vehicle. The curtain airbag may effectively stop the head of the occupant from rotating while moving toward the front of the vehicle during a vehicle crash.

Curtain airbag of vehicle

An airbag system for a vehicle is provided. The system includes an airbag cushion that is deployed from the upper portion of a seatback to cover the head of an occupant, thereby absorbing impacts applied to the head of the occupant and preventing neck bending attributable to movement of the head of the occupant. In addition, injury to the occupant is minimized by variably adjusting the deployment timing of the airbag cushion depending on the collision direction of the vehicle.

An airbag device for a vehicle includes a curtain airbag that is deployed downward along an inner side surface of a vehicle; and a driver's seat airbag that expands from inside the steering wheel of the vehicle toward the rear of the vehicle, and is configured so that when the curtain airbag and the driver's seat airbag expand, a thickness portion of the driver's seat airbag along a direction of front to back of the vehicle is arrested by the inner face of the leading edge of the curtain airbag, keeping the head of the driver from pushing aside the curtain airbag and the driver's seat airbag and being projected toward the front of the vehicle.

A curtain airbag apparatus includes a series of main chambers formed to flatways cover an inner side structure of the vehicle upon inflation; and a head receiving region formed at a front portion of the curtain airbag concavely upwardly in a length direction of the vehicle to receive a head of an occupant when the head of the occupant comes into contact with a driver seat airbag and slide in front and lateral directions of the vehicle in an inflated state of the driver seat airbag.

A vehicle airbag includes a main panel to form a main chamber deployed toward an inner part of a vehicle, and a protrusion panel provided outside the main panel to form at least one protrusion chamber that communicates with the main chamber and protrudes toward the inner part of the vehicle based on the main chamber. The protrusion panel is folded to have a wrinkle part when the vehicle airbag is not inflated.

A side curtain airbag for a vehicle includes a serial main chamber that inflates and deploys along an interior side surface of the vehicle; a protruding chamber disposed at a front side of the main chamber to further protrude toward an interior of the vehicle relative to the main chamber; and a cutting line arranged between the main chamber and the protruding chamber to partially separate the protruding chamber from the main chamber such that the protruding chamber overlaps with a portion of the main chamber upon non-inflation of the airbag. In this configuration, upon a vehicle collision, the head portion of the occupant is prevented early from being ejected toward the front of the vehicle.
