Disclosed are an electrode having a three-dimensional structure, the electrode including: a porous nonwoven web including a plurality of polymer fibers that form an interconnected porous network; an active material composite positioned among the polymer fibers and including active material particles and a first conductive material; and a second conductive material positioned on an outer surface of the active material composite, wherein the interconnected porous network is filled homogeneously with the active material composite and the second conductive material to form a super lattice structure, and an electrochemical device including the electrode having a three-dimensional structure.

A polarizer includes a base and a plurality of grids arranged on a surface of the base parallel to one another. Each of the grids comprises an intermediate layer and a semi-transmissive metal layer that reflects a part of external light incident thereon and transmits a part of the external light incident thereon. The semi-transmissive metal layer and the intermediate layer are alternately deposited to include at least two semi-transmissive metal layers. The thicknesses of the semi-transmissive metal layers increases in a direction in which the semi-transmissive metal layer is disposed away from the external light. An organic light emitting display apparatus includes the polarizer and has improved contrast and brightness.

Disclosed is a photonic crystal organic light emitting device. The device comprises a transparent substrate having a concavo-convex structure in an upper surface thereof, a transparent electrode layer formed on the transparent substrate, a hole conduction layer comprised of an organic EL material and formed on the transparent electrode layer, an electron conduction layer comprised of an organic EL material and formed on the hole conduction layer, and a cathode layer formed on the electron conduction layer. Here, a photonic crystal period due to the concavo-convex structure formed in the upper surface of the transparent substrate corresponds to a wavelength level of light generated at an interface between the electron conduction layer and the hole conduction layer. Therefore, a light extraction efficiency and a viewing angle are increased without degeneration of the image quality. Further, since the photonic crystal has an effective refractive value ranged between that of the transparent substrate and that of the transparent electrode layer, it has the same effect as in nonreflective coating, thereby simultaneously increasing the transmittance.

There is provided an assembly of a light source and an optical detector, each using a vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL). To control light emission of the VCSEL light source, spontaneous light emitted laterally therefrom is converted into an electrical signal. The optical detector for monitoring light is provided around the light source to supply the feedback electrical signal. The inner surface facing the light source of the optical detector is circular to absorb the spontaneous light and the outer surface thereof is polygonal having a plurality of peaks and valleys. Therefore, most of spontaneous light absorbed in the optical detector is reflected within, not penetrating the outer surface thereof, thereby extending the path of the spontaneous light in the optical detector and increasing the light intensity converted into an electrical signal.
