Provided is a method and a device for creating and displaying a multilayer augmented reality image. The device may include a photographing circuit configured to capture images of a real environment and an image processor configured to create an AR content, extract at least one object from the captured images of the real environment, display the captured images of real environment as a first layer, display the created AR content as a second layer and overlay the second layer on the first layer, and display the extracted object as an object image layer and overlay the object image layer on the second layer.

Creating and displaying multi-layered augemented reality

Provided is creating an augmented reality video using a set-top box. The set-top box may include a communication circuit and a processor. The communication circuit may be configured to receive a first video stream including a target object image in real time from a server and to receive a second video stream captured by a user device from the user device. The processor may be configured to: extract the target object image from each frame of the first video stream using WebGL, correct a color of a boundary line of the target object image between the target object and the background, and composite the extracted target object image into an each frame of the second video stream.

Creating video augmented reality using set-top box

The apparatus may include an object region extractor configured to extract an object region from the moving image, a color frame generator configured to generate a color frame corresponding to the extracted object region, an alpha channel frame generator configured to generate an alpha channel frame corresponding to the object region based on the alpha channel included in the moving image, a synthesizer configured to generate a synthesized frame by synthesizing the color frame and the alpha channel frame; an encoder configured to encode the synthesized frame; and a transmitter configured to transmit the encoded synthesized frame to a reproducing device.
