An assembly process using liquid optically clear adhesive for support of thin components. The method comprising the steps of placing a release liner and substrate, determining the placement location of the embedding material, positioning the embedding material on the determined placement location, applying a first LOCA, sandwiching the embedding material between the contact side of the substrate and the release side of the release liner to create an initial assembly, curing the first LOCA, removing the release liner, securing the substrate onto a cutting mat with the embedding material and first LOCA facing up, cutting a detailed design, transferring the initial assembly to the work surface, removing unwanted embedding material, applying a second LOCA, sandwiching the detailed design, curing the second LOCA, cleaning the final assembly, and trimming the edges of the final assembly to the size and shape of a final product.

A planar antenna clamp system comprising: a base; a connector mounted to the base; a clamp arm mounted to the base such that, when in an open configuration, an air gap exists between the top surface of the base and the bottom surface of the clamp arm's distal end, and wherein the clamp arm and the base are oriented with respect to one another such that conductors of a planar antenna may be positioned in the air gap when in the open configuration; a matching circuit disposed on the top surface of the base and electrically connected to the connector; and a clamp configured to compress the conductors of the planar antenna between the top surface of the base and the bottom surface of the clamp arm such that the conductors of the planar antenna are operatively coupled with the matching circuit, when in a closed configuration.

A bicone antenna and methods for manufacture therefor can include a feed portion, a top section and a bottom section that can be centered on a vertical axis. The top section and bottom sections can each have a respective conical surface, which can extend radially outward from the vertical axis at an inner portion at a constant angle &#x3b8;with respect to a horizontal antenna axis of the antenna. For both sections, the inner portion can merge into an outer portion that can have a curved surface, with the curved surface extending radially outward from the conical surface so that the curved surface has a logarithmic profile when viewed in side profile. The above structure can allow for a multi-directional antenna with a minimum of moving parts, which can be easily manufactured, including by additive manufacturing techniques.

A high pass filter includes: an input-impedance-matching taper transition metal layer having an IMT input end and an IMT output end, the IMT input end having an IMT input end width, the IMT output end having an IMT output end width that is wider than the IMT input end width; a substrate integrated waveguide having a SIW input end and a SIW output end; and an output-impedance-matching taper transition metal layer having an OMT input end and an OMT output end, the OMT input end having an OMT input end width, the OMT output end having an OMT output end width that is wider than the OMT input end width. The substrate integrated waveguide is arranged such that the IMT output end is electrically connected to the SIW input end and such that the OMT input end is electrically connected to the SIW output end.
