A card connector comprises a housing, an auxiliary urging member and a card guide mechanism. The housing is provided with connection terminals connected to a card housed therein. The auxiliary urging member is capable of urging the card in a direction opposite to an insertion direction of the card. The card guide mechanism is provided with an urging member capable of urging the card in the direction opposite to the insertion direction of the card. The urging member and the auxiliary urging member are also configured to cooperate with each other to move the card.

Card connector

A card adapter () is configured to receive a first card () and to be inserted into a card connector () into which a second card may be mated. The card adapter includes a housing having first () and second () intermateable insulative plate members and a circuit member () arranged in the housing. The circuit member includes a plurality of adapter side contact pads (), each being configured to contact a terminal of the card connector, and a plurality of conductive leads (), each lead extending between one of the adapter side contact pads and a termination end (). A plurality of connection terminals () are provided with each being interconnected to one of the termination ends of the conductive leads and configured to engage a contact pad () of the first card. The first plate member may include a plurality of deformable projections () configured to engage a first surface of the circuit member and press the circuit member against the second plate member. The circuit member may have a plurality of through-holes with the terminals having solder tails that extend into the through holes.

Card adapter

A card connector () is disclosed. The card connector () comprises a housing (), at least one terminal (), a card guiding mechanism and an identification switch. The housing () is configured to accommodate a card adapter (), in which a first card () is fitted, or a second card (). Each of the at least one terminals () is attached to the housing (). The card guiding mechanism includes an urging member (). The urging member () is configured to urge the card adapter () or the second card () in a direction opposite to an insertion direction. The card guiding mechanism is configured to hold in a lock position the card adapter () or the second card () pushed in the insertion direction by way of push operation. The identification switch is formed by a first contact member () and a second contact member (), and is arranged further inward in the insertion direction from an insertion direction front end () of the second card () held in the lock position. The identification switch is configured to identify the card adapter () and the second card (). The card adapter () has a front projection () extending forward from an insertion direction front end (). The first contact member () is displaced in the thickness direction of the card adapter () and comes into contact with the second contact member () when abutting against the front projection () of the card adapter ().

A card connector has a housing with a base and a side rail extending from the base to define a card-insertion cavity. A plurality of conductive terminals are supported by the housing and extend at least partially into the card-insertion cavity for contacting a card inserted into the card-insertion cavity. A push-push style card locking and ejection mechanism retains the card in the card-insertion cavity upon a first push and which ejects an inserted card upon a second push. The mechanism includes a slide member positioned for slidable movement on the side rail and a biasing member contacting the slide member for selectively exerting an ejection force on the slide member. The slide member includes a slide surface that slides along a guide surface of the side rail. A damping material is interposed between the slide member slide surface and the guide rail guide surface for retarding movement of the slide member on the side rail in response to an ejection force from the biasing member.
