A filter container includes a sheet having a base with a liquid inlet pipe and a liquid exhaust pipe and a cap that is integrally attached to the base. A disposable unit container is housed inside the sheet, and the disposable unit container contains cartridge filters. The disposable unit container has a liquid inlet port and a liquid outlet port at a bottom portion thereof, these ports being provided with shut-off valves on the inside of the disposable unit container. The shut-off valves are engagable by the inlet and exhaust pipes on the base of the sheet so that the valves are open by engaging the disposable unit container with the base with the sheet, and are closed by removing the unit container from the base. The bottom end cap supports the lower ends of the cartridge filters above the inlet and outlet ports, and defines the inlet and outlet liquid flow paths. Upper end caps are also provided for sealing the upper ends of the cartridge filters.

Filter container with double construction

A surface grinding apparatus in which a work piece having a plate-like, disc-like, circular or annular shape and having a flat surface and a uniform thickness, which is held by carrier plates between upper and lower horizontal surface tables confronting one another, is pressed against the upper and lower surface tables and the upper and lower surface table and carrier plates are slidably moved by different rotary actions to grind the work piece by sliding friction. In the apparatus, a plurality of resin bond grinding stones are attached to the upper and lower surface tables directly or through attaching plates so that both of the upper and lower acting surfaces constitute the same plane, the grinding stones are defined by a plurality of grooves formed to extend toward the outer side of the surface table from the inner side thereof in a direction opposite to the rotation direction of the surface table and communicate with the outer side of the surface table, and a plurality of radial grooves passing through an imaginary center of the surface table, the width of the grooves is at least 4 mm, the depth of the grooves from the grinding surface to the surface of the surface table is at least 5 mm, and the area ratio of the grinding stone-acting surface to the effective grinding surface is at least 50%.

Surface grinding apparatus

A surface grinding apparatus including a plurality of grinding wheel segments which are attached to a lapping platen directly or through an attachment plate so that the working surfaces of the segments form one plane, wherein the surface of a material to be ground is brought into sliding contact with the grinding wheel segments to grind the surface of the material. The grinding wheel segments are arranged so that a plurality of grooves are formed extending in a direction opposite to the advancing direction of the platen from the inner side of the platen toward the outer side thereof and communicate with the outer side of the platen.

A solid-liquid separating apparatus for obtaining a liquid component, for example, from a used solid-liquid mixture for reuse of the same, which includes a filtering member having a hollow cylindrical shape made of a hard porous material such as porous ceramics, sintered metal, layered metal net, sintered resin, unwoven cloth, and the like. The hard porous material is provided with continuous air holes and a device is provided for reducing the pressure in the inner hollow space of the filtering member during the rotation thereof. A scraper is provided for scraping a solid component remaining on the filtering surface of the filtering member after the liquid component is sucked into the inner space of the filtering member. The separating apparatus further includes a cutter for effectively removing the solid component and a device which allows reuse of the mixture with solid particles evenly distributed therein. The use of the hard porous material as the filtering member makes it possible to realize a smooth outer surface thereof without deformation to attain an even scraping operation, which results in an excellent filtering ability and improved durability of the apparatus itself.

Apparatus for performing separation of a solid-liquid mixture

A tubular fluid filter comprising a winding of a textured multifilament yarn of a synthetic polymer having a take-up density of from 0.15 to 0.60 cm.sup.3 /cm.sup.3 on a tubular bobbin having apertures for the passage of fluid provided over the peripheral surface thereof.

This invention pertains to a composite whetstone for polishing soft metal plates, such as an aluminium disc, etc., which comprises matrix and fine abrasive particle. The matrix, uniform in structure, is composed of a polyvinyl acetal-based polymer, a hardened product of at least one kind of thermosetting plastic and amorphous silicate, the fine abrasive particle is incorporated into the matrix fixed substantially in close contact with each other in a continuous manner, wherein the superficial hardness (H) of the composite whetstone, measured by a Rockwell hardness tester with a superficial 15-Y scale, and the size (G) of the fine abrasive particle, determined by a classification procedure according to Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) R-6001, have to satisfy the following relation.
