When one or both of color conversion data for chromatic colors and color conversion data for achromatic colors are rewritten, attribute information of the color conversion data for chromatic colors or the color conversion data for achromatic colors is updated and this attribute information is displayed on a display.

Image processing apparatus

Color conversion data used in converting an image signal into color information represented by color materials is saved in a color-conversion-data saving unit and, when the color conversion data is rewritten, before rewriting of the color conversion data, the color conversion data is copied to an area different from an area in which the color conversion data is rewritten in the color-conversion-data saving unit.

A printer controller receives a printer job from external equipment and carries out the printer job using a printer. A user IF task accepts a reservation input for the use of a copying function using a scanner and the printer from a user while the printer job is being executed by the printer controller. Responsive to the copy reservation input, a job management task reserves the right of use of the scanner and the printer after the completion of the printer job in execution. If the printer is in operation when the user desires to use the copy function, the user is allowed to make a reservation for copying and then copy after the termination of the current printer job even if another printer job has been spooled.

Multi-function image forming apparatus with image prioritization scheme

A device-information-holding section holds inherent device information including the control information to be possessed by an image-forming device. A condition-setting section sets a reference value to specific device information in the above device information as a condition. A character-data-generating section determines whether the device information fetched from the device-information-holding section meets the above set condition, adds predetermined color information to the device information in accordance with the determination result, and converts the device information into character-string data. An image-data-generating section converts the above converted character-string data into character-image data. An image-data-storing section stores the above converted character-image data. An image-forming section reads the character-image data from the image-data-storing section and forms an image based on the character-image data on an image-recording medium. The image-forming section has a function for printing out the specific device information by coloring or character-modifying the information under a specific condition.

Image forming device and method for controlling the same

A plurality of devices for reading document images are connected through a network. A master device and slave devices are set among the devices. Read conditions and image forming conditions are respectively notified to the slave devices by the master device. Each slave device reads an original document based on the read condition, and outputs the read image data attached with the image forming condition, to the print device. The print device prints image data from various read devices under the image forming conditions attached thereto, thereby to print image data from the plurality of read devices, integrated with each other.

Image forming system

The color image forming apparatus forms color images on a recording medium using the reading unit for continuously reading color images from a plurality of documents to output color image data corresponding to the color images and a plurality of image forming units which are provided to form images for a plurality of color signals constituting the color image data on the basis of the color image data read by the reading unit. In the color image forming apparatus, the reading unit is controlled to start reading of a next document of the document corresponding to the images under image forming when the predetermined image forming unit finishes image forming among the plurality of image forming units before the color image forming is finished.

In a multifunction image processing apparatus, a CPU uses a QNT/PM, as used for copying and editing, to store image data received by a facsimile controller during a time zone when the apparatus is not used for other than facsimile reception, as in the night. In initiating an operation other than facsimile reception, such as copying, the CPU allows the image data retained in the QNT/PM to be printed out by a laser printer. In the event of failure to print, or in the case of confidential data, the image data is stored/retained in a file memory in a facsimile controller.
