An internal combustion system includes a control device having an accumulated amount of time measuring unit that measures an accumulated amount of time by measuring an amount of time when the temperature of the coolant measured by a temperature sensor is equal to or higher than a defined temperature and accumulating the amount of time measured, an exchange determination unit that determines that the coolant needs to be exchanged when the measured accumulated amount of time reaches or exceeds an upper-limit accumulated amount of time, and an upper-limit amount of time setting unit that sets the upper-limit accumulated amount of time for determination by the determination unit in accordance with the type of metal forming the flow channel where the coolant flows.

Internal combustion system

The present disclosure provides a battery coolant for an electric vehicle that has a low conductivity, a low ion elution performance, a low viscosity at a very low temperature, and a cooling performance equivalent to that of an aqueous coolant composition in a driving temperature range. The present disclosure relates to a battery coolant for an electric vehicle containing at least one kind of carbonates selected from the group consisting of propylene carbonate and butylene carbonate in an amount of 90 mass % or more with respect to a total mass of the coolant and water in an amount of 3 mass % or less with respect to the total mass of the coolant.

Coolant

A coolant composition includes a viscosity improving agent and a base. The viscosity improving agent includes at least one nonionic surfactant and at least one anionic surfactant represented by the following Formula (1) of RO&#x2014;(RO)&#x2014;SOM. The base is formed of water and/or at least one alcohol selected from the group consisting of a monohydric alcohol, a dihydric alcohol, a trihydric alcohol, and a glycol monoalkyl ether. Rrepresents a linear or branched alkyl group having 16 to 24 carbon atoms or a linear or branched alkenyl group having 16 to 24 carbon atoms, Rrepresents an ethylene group or a propylene group, m represents an average addition molar number of RO which is a number of 0.5 to 10, and M represents a cation or a hydrogen atom. A shear viscosity of the coolant composition is 8.5 mPa&#xb7;s or higher at 25&#xb0; C. and is 2.0 mPa&#xb7;s or lower at 100&#xb0; C.

Coolant composition and method of operating internal combustion engine using the same

An automotive engine coolant composition includes: a non-silicone surfactant; an anti-foaming agent containing a mineral oil and silica; and a base, in which the base includes at least one alcohol selected from the group consisting of a monohydric alcohol, a dihydric alcohol, a trihydric alcohol, and a glycol monoalkyl ether and/or water, a kinematic viscosity is 8.5 mm/s or more at 25&#xb0; C. and 2.0 mm/s or less at 100&#xb0; C., and with respect to 100 parts by mass of the coolant composition, a content of the mineral oil is 0.01 to 0.4 parts by mass and a content of the silica is 0.003 to 0.1 parts by mass.

Automotive engine coolant composition, automotive engine concentrated coolant composition, and method of operating internal combustion engine

An automotive engine coolant composition includes: a surfactant as a viscosity index improver; a rubber swelling inhibitor; and a base, in which the rubber swelling inhibitor is at least one selected from a compound expressed by a following formula (1) [in the formula, Ris hydrogen, a methyl group, or an ethyl group] and a compound expressed by a following formula (2) [in the formula, Ris hydrogen, a methyl group, or an ethyl group], the base includes at least one alcohol selected from the group consisting of a monohydric alcohol, a dihydric alcohol, a trihydric alcohol, and a glycol monoalkyl ether and/or water, a kinematic viscosity is 8.5 mm/s or more at 25&#xb0; C., and a content of the rubber swelling inhibitor is 0.03 parts by mass or more and 0.9 parts by mass or less with respect to 100 parts by mass of the coolant composition. 

A coolant composition includes: a viscosity improving agent; at least one alkali metal compound selected from the group consisting of alkali metal salts and alkali metal hydroxides; and a base composed of water and/or at least one alcohol selected from the group consisting of a monohydric alcohol, a dihydric alcohol, a trihydric alcohol, and a glycol monoalkyl ether, wherein the viscosity improving agent is a compound represented by a formula of RO&#x2014;(RO)&#x2014;SOM, where Rrepresents a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group having 16 to 24 carbon atoms, Rrepresents an ethylene group or a propylene group, m represents an average addition molar number of RO and a number from 0.5 to 10, and M represents a cation or a hydrogen atom, and a kinetic viscosity of the coolant composition is 8.5 mm/sec or higher at 25&#xb0; C. and is 2.0 mm/sec or lower at 100&#xb0; C.
