In one embodiment, an automatic voltage regulator includes a detection instruction unit configured to monitor a generator output voltage, and output an instruction signal when the output voltage of the generatordeviates from a predetermined range, the instruction signal being a signal of instructing detection of a specifying parameters generated in a generator field circuit of a generator excitation system; a field-parameter detection unit configured to detect the specifying parameters following to the instruction signal; and a comparison calculator configured to calculate a comparison value between the specifying parameters and a predetermined allowable upper-limit voltage-value of each component constituting the generator excitation system.

Automatic voltage regulator, automatic voltage regulating method, generator excitation system, and power generation system

A generating system having a rotating type generator to interconnect a power system in order to output power of the generator to the power system comprises a generator, an exciting circuit and an excitation control section. It also comprises short-cycle stabilizing sections for outputting a short-cycle stabilizing signal for suppressing short-cycle power fluctuations according to at least one of an electric parameter and a mechanical parameter of the generator and a long-cycle stabilizing section for outputting a long-cycle stabilizing signal for suppressing long-cycle power fluctuations having a cycle time longer than short-cycle power fluctuations according to the mechanical parameter of the generator. The outputs of the short-cycle stabilizing sections and the long-cycle stabilizing section are sent to the excitation control section.

Apparatus for stabilizing a power system adapted to generating systems

To improve the resistance against external low-frequency disturbance (represented by generator output change), the power system stabilizer for a generator, for inputting a voltage regulating signal (e), as an auxiliary signal, to an automatic voltage regulator to control a generator terminal voltage at a target voltage (V.sub.o), comprises: an angular acceleration observer for calculating an estimated angular acceleration change rate (.DELTA.as) of the generator on the basis of at least one of stabilizing signal change rates (.DELTA.P and/or .DELTA..omega.) of the generator; and a power stabilizer circuit for calculating a corrected voltage regulating signal (e) applied to the automatic voltage regulator on the basis of the estimated angular acceleration change rate value (.DELTA.as) calculated by the angular acceleration observer. Further, it is preferable to provide a plurality of observers and a plurality of power stabilizer circuits, separately for each fluctuation frequency.
