A thermistor element for temperature measurement has a thermistor chip in wafer form and thin film electrodes formed on respective principal surfaces of the thermistor chip. The thin film electrodes are formed by evaporation. Lead wires are adhered to the thin film electrodes with heat-resisting conductive material. The assembled members are sealed with glass. The electrodes may be made of two-layer films.

The invention provides a ferroelectric ceramic body useful as a piezoelectric device having excellent dielectric, piezoelectric and temperature characteristics along with good sinterability. The ceramic material has a chemical composition represented by the formula

A piezoelectric ceramic composition which comprises the combination of a pyrochlore composite oxide and a base ceramic mixture of PbTiO.sub.3 and PbZrO.sub.3 is prepared by individually forming pyrochlore composite oxide, PbTiO.sub.3 and PbZrO.sub.3 components; and sintering a mixture of the formed components at a temperature greater than 1,000.degree. C.
