A motor control device operable to rotate a motor based on an actuated direction of an operation knob of an operation switch in a direction corresponding to the actuated direction has direction selector switches provided corresponding to respective actuated directions of the operation knob, and open/close elements provided between the direction selector switches and a power supply. Each of the open/close elements is turned on when a control current is supplied thereto. When the operation knob is actuated, the direction selector switch corresponding to the actuated direction is turned on, a control current is supplied from the power supply to the open/close element connected to the relevant switch, and the predetermined open/close element is turned on. A drive current that flows from the power supply into the motor through a current carrying path of the open/close element is controlled according to a ON/OFF status of each of the open/close elements.

Motor control device

The present invention provides an open/close member control apparatus capable of blocking entry of a ruffian even if forced closing operation is cancelled during closing operation of an open/close member by the forced closing operation and suppressing damage on an object which is erroneously caught. In the open/close member control apparatus for switching closing operation of a window to opening operation in the case where pinch of a foreign matter is detected and the forced closing operation of the switch is not maintained and continuing the closing operation of the window in the case where pinch of a foreign matter is detected and the forced closing operation of the switch is maintained, in the case where pinch is detected and the forced closing operation of the switch is maintained, when the maintenance of the forced closing operation is cancelled during closing operation of the window, the window opening operation is performed so that an open amount of the window becomes smaller than that in normal times.

Open/close member control apparatus

An apparatus for driving a motor that opens and closes the window of vehicle, for example, is so adapted that when the vehicle becomes submersed in the sea, a lake or a river, etc., the window is prevented from being closed owing to malfunctioning of a relay caused when a leakage current flows into an operating switch for opening and closing the window. When submersion is sensed and it is sensed that the motor is being rotated by a malfunction in a direction that closes the window, a relay for rotating the motor in the forward direction is actuated. This prevents the occurrence of a situation in which the motor is caused to rotate (especially in the direction that closes the window) regardless of the fact that the operating switch has not been operated.

Motor drive

A highly dependable motor drive system capable of driving a motor with certainty even in a submersion accident and preventing overcurrent from flowing to the motor on the occasion of switching the direction of rotation. It is so arranged that, of a first and second relay for rotating the motor in the normal and reverse directions, respectively, in response to operation of associated switches, the first relay is selectively actuated and the second relay is de-energized. As the associated switch is operated, the energization of the coil of the second relay is maintained for a while by the function of a bypass circuit so that the actuation of the second relay is stopped only after actuation of the first relay with a transient motor stand-still time therebetween.
