Disclosed are a method of configuring an additional air chamber member on an outer circumferential surface of a well portion of the vehicle wheel as a Helmholtz resonator in a tire air chamber, comprising: preparing a plurality of additional air chamber members for each size of the vehicle wheel, each additional air chamber member corresponding to a different resonance frequency; and selecting one of the additional air chamber members with the corresponding resonance frequency from the additional air chamber members in accordance with a size of a tire used in combination with the vehicle wheel and an additional air chamber member information system using the method.

In a vehicle wheel, communication holes of first Helmholtz resonators (auxiliary air chamber members) having a resonant frequency lower by a first prescribed frequency &#x394;fa than the resonant frequency of air column resonance sounds of a tire, and communication holes of second Helmholtz resonators having a resonant frequency higher by a second prescribed frequency &#x394;fb than the resonant frequency of air column resonance sounds of the tire, are arranged facing each other across the wheel rotational center, the second prescribed frequency &#x394;fb being set greater than the first prescribed frequency &#x394;fa.

Vehicle wheel

A vehicle wheel is provided which includes a sub air chamber member capable of suppressing a surface deformation amount in case of an action of an internal pressure of the sub air chamber member. A sub air chamber member of a vehicle wheel includes an upper surface member, a lower surface member, and bridge sections causing the upper surface member and the lower surface member to strike on each other. An end-to-end distance of an opening part of a bridge section opening on an upper surface of the upper surface member is set longer than a distance to an end portion of an opening part of another bridge section adjacent thereto. Moreover, the area of the opening parts of the bridge sections opening on the upper surface of the upper surface member is larger than the area of other general parts.

A guide rod, which has a diameter expandable tip end portion and restricts the oscillation of a connecting rod and a piston, is inserted into a cylinder bore via an opening adjacent to a crank chamber of the cylinder bore, and the piston is inserted into the cylinder bore via a cylinder head mounting side opening with the connecting rod positioned at a leading end. The diameter of the tip end portion of the guide rod is increased in a hole of a semi-circular arc-shaped end portion positioned at tip end of the connecting rod in the insertion direction, and thus the connecting rod is engaged with the guide rod. The guide rod moves and the connecting rod is pulled into the cylinder bore until the semi-circular arc-shaped end portion of the connecting rod sits on a crankpin of a crankshaft.
