A connector includes: a circuit board; a first heat transfer material arranged on a principal surface of the circuit board; a first shell having an end mated with a mating connector in a state in which the terminal end portion of the circuit board protrudes from the end, and includes an opposite opposed to at least a part of a target region which is a region other than the terminal end portion, covers at least a part of the target region, and is conductive; a second shell connected to an end of the first shell, covers at least a part of the target region of the principal surface, and is thermally conductably connected to the circuit board in contact with the first heat transfer material; and a third shell engaged with the second shell, covers at least a part of the target region of a principal surface, and is conductive.

A plug connector includes a signal contact conductor to which an internal conductor of a coaxial cable is connected, a ground contact conductor to which an external conductor of the coaxial cable is connected, and an insulating housing that insulates the signal contact conductor from the ground contact conductor. The insulating housing includes an insulating main body in which the signal contact conductor is held and a protrusion that protrudes from a peripheral surface of the insulating main body in a radially outward direction of the insulating main body. The protrusion includes a base portion on which an insulator and the external conductor of the coaxial cable are placed and a pair of walls that are erected on the base portion and are disposed to interpose at least a tip of the external conductor therebetween.

A plug connector includes: a ground contact conductor; an insulating housing; and a signal contact conductor. The ground contact conductor includes: a cylindrical main body having a slit that extends in an extending direction thereof; a pair of arms protruding from respective edges forming the slit of the main body in a radially outward direction of the main body; and fixing portions configured to fasten around the pair of arms from the exterior. Each fixing portion is provided with a protrusion protruding toward the corresponding arm and positioned at the center of the fixing portion in a protruding direction of the arms. In a state in which the arms are fastened with the fixing portions, the protrusions are in contact with the arms, and the arms and the fixing portions are separated from each other by the presence of the protrusions.

A coaxial cable connector comprises a signal contact member having an inner conductor connecting portion, a grounding contact member, and an insulating housing for supporting the signal contact member and the grounding contact member in a condition of mutual isolation, wherein the insulating housing is provided with first and second holes opposite to each other across the inner conductor connecting portion of the signal contact member with which an inner conductor of a coaxial cable is in contact, the first hole is operative to allow an ultrasonic vibration horn to be put into the first hole for contacting with the inner conductor of the coaxial cable and applying ultrasonic vibrations to the same and the second hole is operative to allow an anvil to be put into the second hole for coming into contact with the inner conductor connecting portion of the signal contact member.

A coaxial cable connector comprises a signal contact member having an inner conductor connecting portion, a grounding contact member, and an insulating housing for supporting the signal contact member and the grounding contact member in a condition of mutual isolation, wherein the insulating housing is provided with a concavity which has a bottom on which the inner conductor connecting portion of the signal contact member is placed and an opening through which the inner conductor of the coaxial cable is caused to come into contact with the inner conductor connecting portion of the signal contact member placed on the bottom of the concavity and is operative to allow an ultrasonic vibration horn to be put into the concavity through the opening of the concavity for applying ultrasonic vibrations to the inner conductor of the coaxial cable put in contact with the inner conductor connecting portion of the signal contact member.

In a digital coherent communication scheme utilizing polarization-multiplexed optical signals, it may be impossible to separate transmission light and reception light from each other with high precision for transmission/reception an optical signal. An optical space transmission system according to the present invention is provided with a first transmission/reception device which radiates first reception light and second reception light whose polarization states are orthogonal to each other, and a second transmission/reception device which radiates third reception light alternately including a first reception light component whose polarization state is the same as the first reception light and a second reception light component whose polarization state is the same as the second reception light in a time-wise manner.

Good signal transmission characteristics can be stably obtained by a simple configuration. A void portion formed by inner wall surfaces of a groove disposed so as to face a wire connection part of a cable-shaped signal transmission medium and an inner conductor contact is provided in part of an insulative pressing plate, which is opened/closed integrally with a shell cover portion, and the wire connection part thereof and the void portion are disposed in a radial-direction inner region of a shield shell. As a result, an air layer for impedance adjustment formed by the void portion of the insulative pressing plate is disposed so as to face the wire connection part, at which mismatching of impedance easily occurs, and the matching degree (VSWR) of impedance can be efficiently adjusted.

Good signal transmission characteristics can be stably obtained by a simple structure. A pressure-contact surface of a cover inner surface of a shell cover part, which is openably/closably coupled to a cylindrical opening of an external conductor shell, and an insulative pressing plateis provided with a void part, which separates at least one of them from the other one. By virtue of this, it is configured that the characteristic impedance about the cable-shaped signal transmission medium SC can be adjusted by the void part, and the matching degree (VSWR) of the characteristic impedance with respect to transmission signals can be easily and appropriately matched.

In order to allow reception in which receive sensitivity does not depend upon polarization state in reception of a multi-level phase optical signal, in this optical reception method, a multi-level phase optical signal of a single polarization is separated into a first optical signal and a second optical signal of which polarizations are mutually orthogonal, the ratio of the power of the first optical signal to the power of the second signal is calculated, and the difference between the phase of the first optical signal and the phase of second optical signal is calculated as an amount of compensation, whereupon, on the basis of the ratio and the amount of compensation, the first optical signal and the second optical signal are combined using a maximal ratio combining method, and the amount of compensation is modified on the basis of the ratio.

With a simple configuration, increase in size can be avoided, usage durability is improved, and occurrence of insufficient electrical connection caused by dust can be prevented well. A crank part is provided in at least one of both contacts including elastic beam-like members. Both of the contacts are provided with cut-away parts, which substantially increase the span lengths of the elastic beam-like members, and gaps between the contacts and an insulating housing which ensure flexibility of the elastic beam-like members to ensure flexibility and prevent permanent deformation of the contacts while enhancing elasticity of the contacts.
