A light guide plate for a liquid crystal screen display apparatus providing a favorable visual effect. The printing data of a light reflection pattern stored in a computer is transferred to an inkjet printer to allow the inkjet printer to subject a substantially-rectangular printing face surrounded by upper and lower and left and right edges of a light guide plate to a reflective printing for diffusing light emitted from a light source into the interior of the light guide plate. The printing data for performing the reflective printing is prepared so that a printing density is increased from the edges in the four directions corresponding to the edges in the four directions of the light guide plate toward one or more high density setting points set in front of the respective opposed edges. The reflective printing is performed using white ink including titanium oxide.

A gradation pattern preparation program by which a complicated gradation pattern can be prepared easily, wherein a computer is caused to function as: a vertical and horizontal printing density control line generation means for displaying, on a campus face, vertical and horizontal printing density control lines in a net-like manner, a vertical cross section line generation means for displaying a cross section image of the selected vertical printing density control line as a vertical cross section line on a vertical cross section line display screen, a horizontal cross section line generation means for displaying a cross section image of the selected horizontal printing density control line as a horizontal cross section line on a horizontal cross section line display screen, a printing density control point generation means for displaying, on the respective vertical and horizontal cross section lines, printing density control points for editing the respective vertical and horizontal cross section lines, and a printing density control point shift means for changing, in accordance with the shift of the printing density control points, heights to reference lines of the respective vertical and horizontal cross section lines.

Gradation-pattern creation program

A pendant having a housing with a movable member connected to the housing. The movable member is capable of swinging movement for a period of time. The movement is started by the wearer compressing a movable driving arm toward a stationary projection formed in the lower part of the housing and then releasing. The driving arm is provided centrally with a spring normally biasing the driving arm away from the projection, and gear teeth at its upper end. The gear teeth mesh with a gear train terminating in a shaft having a disc and an eccentrically located projection extending toward the front of the pendant. The projection is engaged within a guide slot in the movable member which is rotatable about an axis contained in the housing. Thus, when the driving arm is compressed and released, the energy of the spring is transferred through the drive train, causing the eccentric projection to move the movable member to which it is connected, and thus imparting an animated character to the pendant.

An ambulatory worker toy having a wind-up spring motor within a housing which includes a head casing movably mounted on a torso casing from which fixed and movable arm members extend. Two movably mounted leg members are connected to the spring motor via an ambulatory transmission mechanism to periodically raise and shift the leg members to propel the toy sideways in a walking motion. A tool movement transmission mechanism driven by the spring motor moves the movable arm member and a toy broom attached thereto to simulate a sweeping action. Finally, an oscillatory transmission mechanism driven by the spring motor periodically pumps an internal whistle mechanism and moves the head casing in simulation of a whistling worker. The net effect of the various transmission mechanisms is to present a toy which is powered by a single spring motor but which nevertheless simulates a sweeping worker which whistles as it walks.

A retractable charm device having a two part body formed in a desired shape, movable appendages extending from the body, mechanical mechanism mounted within the body, the mechanical mechanism including two support panels attached to each other, a plurality of gears rotatably mounted between the two support panels on axles, a cam affixed to one of said gears for actuating the movable appendages through cam follower structure, a take-up spool affixed for rotation with one of the gears, an energization cord attached to the take-up spool, a spring fixed at one end to one gear and at the other end to an element of one panel, a guided element for the energization cord mounted on one panel, and structure attached to the other end of the energization cord for permitting a pull to be exerted on the cord to unwind same from the take-up spool and thus, in turn, energize the spring for later actuation of the mechanical mechanism and the movable appendages.
