Bacteria in waterexposed outdoors are effectively killed with ultraviolet (UV) light by suppressing post-treatment increase in the bacteria population due to photoreactivation. The apparatus shines UV light on the waterto kill bacteria and has UV light emitting diodes (LEDs)that emit UVA light with a primary emission peak of 320 nm-400 nm. The antibacterial action of the UVA light emitted by the UV LEDsprevents proliferation of bacteria in the disinfected waterdue to photoreactivation.

Outdoor water treatment apparatus to kill bacteria with ultraviolet light

A method is provided for detecting filter clogging which are able to keep track of the filter clogging with precision and in detail. At least one pressure selected from the group consisting of a pressure Pa in a blood inflow portion (), a pressure Pv in a blood outflow portion (), a pressure Pfin a filtrate inflow portion (), and a pressure Pfin a filtrate outflow portion () is measured continuously, then a variation (pressure waveform) of the pressure is analyzed, a clogging of a filter () is detected using the analyzed result. Thereby a clogging of a filter is detected early. As a result, it is possible to prevent from developing of the filter clogging by controlling a dosage amount of anti-coagulant properly and changing a flow rate of blood. The variation of the pressure wave may be analyzed by subjecting the variable to Fast Fourier Transform.

Method for detecting filter clogging by using pressure information, apparatus for monitoring filter clogging and bed-side system

A blood-vessel-shape measuring apparatus that can accurately measures a shape of a section of a blood vessel is provided. A blood-vessel-shape calculating meanscalculates, based on respective echo signals detected by first and second arraysthat are placed on a skinof a brachial portionas a portion of a living being such that each of the first and second arraysis across a brachial arterylocated under the skin, respective positions of respective portions of the arterial wall that are located right below the first and second arraysand correspond to supersonic-wave elementsof the first arrayand supersonic-wave elementsof the second array, and calculates, based on the respective positions of the respective portions of the arterial wall that correspond to the supersonic-wave elements, a shape of the brachial arteryon an orthogonal section thereof. Thus, even if the brachial arterymay run, under the skin, in a direction that is not orthogonal to the first or second arrayor is not parallel to the skin, an accurate sectional shape of the brachial arterycan be obtained.

An object of invention is to display necessary information on a screen and display predicted information obtained by predicting the progression of the necessary information. In a bed-side information system, a body information monitormeasures arterial blood pressures of a patient. The body information monitormeasures systolic arterial blood pressures and diastolic arterial blood pressures, and calculates average values thereof. A Hematocrit monitorcalculates Hematocrit, change blood volume rate, and Venous Blood Oxygen Saturation. The body information monitortransmits arterial blood pressure information to a desktop PCand the Hematocrit monitortransmits Hematocrit, change blood volume rate, and Venous Blood Oxygen Saturation to the desktop PC. The desktop PCdisplays arterial blood pressure, Hematocrit, change blood volume rate, and Plasma Refilling Rate on a screen of a display using these information items.
