A duplex optical connector plug includes: a first engagement latch being elastically deformable and including a first abutting projection configured to abut on a front end of a first top wall and a first engagement part formed on an axial rear side of the first abutting projection and configured to engage with an optical connector adaptor when the first optical connector assembly is inserted into the optical connector adaptor; and a second engagement latch being elastically deformable and including a second abutting projection configured to abut on a front end of a second top wall and a second engagement part formed on an axial rear side of the second abutting projection and configured to engage with the optical connector adaptor when the second optical connector assembly is inserted into the optical connector adaptor.

Provided is an optical connector plug which, even when a predetermined load is applied to a plug frame and the plug frame is warped to a vertical upper side of a guide protrusion portion, prevents disengagement of an engagement head and an optical conductor adaptor. In an optical connector plug, an axial front end of an engagement head of an engagement latch is separated axially rearward from an axial rear end of a guide protrusion portion, and is close to the axial rear end of the guide protrusion portion. According to the optical connector plug, when a predetermined load is applied to a plug frame and the plug frame is warped to a vertical upper side of the guide protrusion portion, the axial front end of the engagement head is supported by the axial direction rear of the guide protrusion portion, so that the engagement head is prevented from moving vertically downward from the guide protrusion portion.

A plug attached to a terminal part of a cable includes a plug main body engaged to an adaptor, a slider and a tool. The tool includes an insertion portion having a tapered part and an engaging projection and an operation part. When the operation part is pulled with a second surface of the insertion portion inserted in a slot being disposed in parallel with an extraction direction, the engaging projection is engaged with an engaging portion of the slider, the slider is moved integrally with the tool and the plug main body is pulled out from the adaptor. When the operation part is pulled with an inclined surface of the tapered part being disposed in parallel with the extraction direction, the engaging projection is released from an engaging state with the engaging portion and the tool is detached from the slider.

A plug attached to a terminal part of a cable includes a plug main body to be connected to an adaptor, a latch, which is provided at the plug main body so as to be elastically displaceable from an outside of the plug main body toward an outer surface of the plug main body and which is engaged to the adaptor, and a slider including a cover part that is disposed at the outside of the latch. When the cover part is pushed down toward the outer surface or when the slider is moved in an extraction direction in which the plug main body is to be extracted from the adaptor, the latch is pushed down toward the outer surface and the engaging state of the latch is released.

An optical connector assembly and an optical connector adapter with a shutter each provide better heat radiation performance by blocking light outputted from a first optical fiber held by a first optical connector plug with a shutter thereby controlling temperature of an adapter body of the optical connector adapter not to exceed a prescribed level even when light having optical high power is outputted from the first optical fiber for about 15 minutes. An countermeasure against the light having optical high power is provided in a side wall of one of first and second receiving holes to be irradiated with the light outputted from the first optical fiber toward the second receiving hole and reflected thereafter by the shutter plate disposed in one of the first and second receiving holes.
