An optical fiber cable includes optical fiber ribbons and a sheath covering a periphery of the plurality of optical fiber ribbons. Each of the optical fiber ribbon includes optical fibers, and a connected portion and a non-connected portion are intermittently provided in the longitudinal direction. Each optical fiber includes a glass fiber and a coating portion. A ratio of an inner diameter to an outer diameter of the sheath is 0.75 or more. A ratio of a total area of glasses in an optical fiber ribbon accommodating portion to an area of the optical fiber ribbon accommodating portion is 15% or more and 25% or less, the number of the optical fibers in the optical fiber cable is 3000 or more, and the outer diameter of the sheath is 50 mm or less.

Optical fiber cable and cable with connector

An optical cable according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is an optical cable for installation in a microduct, the optical cable including one or more optical-fiber core wires, and a sheath layer covering an outer peripheral side of the one or more optical-fiber core wires. The sheath layer has a density of 2.0 g/cmor less. The sheath layer contains an olefin-based resin, a silicone, and a non-halogen flame retardant. A mass ratio of the non-halogen flame retardant to the olefin-based resin is 0.90 to 2.00. A mass ratio of the silicone to the olefin-based resin is 0.005 to 0.100. The olefin-based resin contains a polyethylene, and an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or an ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer. The silicone has a weight-average molecular weight of 50,000 to 1,000,000.

Optical cable

An optical fiber cable includes a plurality of optical fibers, a plurality of water-absorbent fibers, and a sheath covering a periphery of the plurality of optical fibers and the plurality of water-absorbent fibers. A ratio of areas of the water-absorbent fibers to an area of an accommodating portion in an inner side of the sheath in a cross section orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the optical fiber cable is 1% or more and 5% or less, and a maximum value of an area of a gap portion surrounded by the optical fibers in the cross section is 1.0 mmor less.

An optical fiber cable includes a plurality of optical fibers, a tensile strength member set that is disposed along the plurality of optical fibers in a longitudinal direction of the optical fiber cable, and a sheath that covers the plurality of optical fibers from outside and encloses the tensile strength member set in the sheath. In the optical fiber cable, at least four tensile strength member sets are embedded in the sheath in a state where the four tensile strength member sets are apart from each other in a radial direction of the optical fiber cable, the sheath includes a flame-retardant inorganic substance and a release agent, and a distance from one of the four tensile strength member sets to a surface layer of the sheath is 0.5 mm or more.

An optical fiber cable includes: a plurality of optical fibers or a plurality of optical fiber ribbons; a cable sheath inside which a plurality of the optical fibers or a plurality of the optical fiber ribbons are housed; and four or more tensile strength member units which are provided so as to be embedded inside the cable sheath, and in which two or more tensile strength members are paired with each other, in which the four or more tensile strength member units are respectively provided at locations facing each other with a center of the optical fiber cable interposed therebetween in a cross section in a radial direction of the optical fiber cable, and in which a cable outer diameter of the optical fiber cable is 6 mm or more and 16 mm or less.

An optical fiber cable includes a plurality of intermittently connected optical fiber ribbons inside a cable sheath, in which a fibrous filler or an FRP using the fibrous filler is provided on at least one pair of diagonals of the two diagonal directions approximately orthogonal to each other inside the cable sheath. An average linear expansion coefficient of the fibrous filler at &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. to +70&#xb0; C. is smaller than an average linear expansion coefficient of the cable sheath at &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. to +70&#xb0; C.

An optical fiber ribbon in which a plurality of optical fibers are integrated by a common coated layer includes: an intermittent connection portion in which a connection portion formed from the common coated layer and a non-connection portion including no common coated layer are alternately formed in a longitudinal direction between every predetermined number of optical fibers equal to or greater than two; and a continuous connection portion in which a connection portion formed from the common coated layer is continuously formed in a longitudinal direction between optical fibers other than the predetermined number of optical fibers equal to or greater than two. A thickness of the connection portion of the intermittent connection portion is thinner than a thickness of the continuous connection portion.
