A feeding device includes: a supply unit that supplies air to a space between a plurality of loaded media to float the media; a feeding unit that feeds out the media floated by the supply unit; and a detection unit that detects whether or not a medium bundle is present among the plurality of media in a state of being floated by the supply unit.

A sheet-shaped-medium feeder includes a housing, a mount portion that is disposed to be vertically movable in the housing and that receives sheet-shaped media, a lift that includes line members to vertically raise or lower the mount portion by hanging the mount portion with the line members, and a discharger that transports the sheet-shaped media stacked on the mount portion. The mount portion is changeable to a long mount portion capable of receiving long sheet-shaped media by extending, further upstream in a transportation direction of the sheet-shaped media, an upstream end portion of the mount portion in the transportation direction of the sheet-shaped media. The lift has the line members attached at a portion of the long mount portion corresponding to an unchanged portion of the mount portion, and at a portion of the long mount portion corresponding to an extended portion of the mount portion.

Sheet-shaped-medium feeder and sheet-shaped-medium handling apparatus

A feeding device includes: a supply unit that supplies air into space between plural media loaded to float the media; a feeder that adsorbs the media floated by the supply unit and feeds the media; a separator that supplies air to a second medium disposed immediately below a first medium adsorbed by the feeder to separate the second medium from the first medium; a detector that detects a position of at least one of the first medium and the second medium after air is supplied by the separator; and a modifier that modifies a condition related to a feeding operation of the feeder based a position detected by the detector.

A feeding device includes: a feeder that feeds a first medium disposed on a top of plural media loaded; a detector that detects at least one of a curved state and an inclination of the first medium and following media including a second medium disposed immediately below the first medium; and a modifier that modifies a condition related to a feeding operation of the feeder based on the at least one of the curved state and the inclination detected by the detector.

An accommodating device includes: a main body portion; a pulling-out portion on which recording media are loaded, the pulling-out portion being capable of being pulled out from the main body portion; a prevention portion configured to prevent the pulling-out portion from being pulled out by being locked to the main body portion in a state where the pulling-out portion is housed in the main body portion; and a fixing portion configured to fix the pulling-out portion to the main body portion in the state where the pulling-out portion is housed in the main body portion.
