A valve body of a gas discharge valve includes a substantially annular main notch for opening the valve body and an auxillary notch provided in a region inside the main notch. The main notch and the auxillary notch are coupled to each other at least at one location. At a coupling portion between the main notch and the auxillary notch, the curvature of an inner corner of a bottom portion of the main notch is equal to or less than 0.05, and the curvature of an outer corner of the bottom portion is equal or greater than 0.05. Assuming that the thickness of the valve body at a portion thereof located in the opposite direction of the auxillary notch when viewed from the coupling portion is t1 and the thickness the valve body at a portion thereof located below the bottom portion of the main notch is t2, t2/t1≥0.16 is satisfied.

Gas discharge valve of battery and battery

A flat-shaped winding electrode body in which a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate are wound with a separator interposed therebetween includes a positive electrode tab portion and a negative electrode tab portion at one end in a direction in which a winding axis of the winding electrode body extends. Two pieces of the flat-shaped winding electrode body are housed in a prismatic outer body so that the winding axis of each piece is disposed in a direction perpendicular to a sealing plate, and the positive electrode tab portion and the negative electrode tab portion are located on one end of the winding electrode body closer to the sealing plate than the other end.

Prismatic secondary battery and assembled battery using the same

A positive electrode terminal is inserted into a current-collector through hole formed, in a positive electrode current collector and riveted in a spot-faced hole formed in the positive electrode current collector. A protrusion is formed on a bottom surface of the spot-faced hole so as to extend around the current-collector through hole, and a riveted portion of the positive electrode terminal covers the protrusion. The riveted portion of the positive electrode terminal is weld-connected to an edge of the spot-faced hole.

Secondary battery

Provided are a secondary battery and a battery pack including the secondary battery. A sealing plate has a positive electrode terminal attachment hole. A positive electrode terminal penetrates the positive electrode terminal attachment hole. An external conductive member is connected to a portion of the positive electrode terminal located on the battery outer side with respect to the sealing plate. The conduction path between a positive electrode plate and the positive electrode terminal is provided with a current interrupting mechanism. A first insulating member made of resin is disposed between the sealing plate and the positive electrode terminal. A second insulating member having higher thermal resistance than the first insulating member is disposed between the external conductive member and the sealing plate.

Secondary battery and battery pack including the same

A secondary battery production method is provided, with which deformation of a current collector is reduced. The method produces a secondary battery including: an electrode assembly having positive and negative electrode plates; and a positive electrode current collector. The positive electrode plate includes a positive electrode core and a positive electrode active material layer, and the electrode assembly includes a positive electrode core-stacked portion. The method includes: an electrode assembly production step of producing the electrode assembly; and an ultrasonic bonding step of ultrasonically bonding the positive electrode current collector to the positive electrode core-stacked portion. The positive electrode current collector has a thin-walled portion. In the ultrasonic bonding step, the thin-walled portion and the positive electrode core-stacked portion are sandwiched between a horn and an anvil, and the thin-walled portion and the positive electrode core-stacked portion are ultrasonically bonded together.

Method for producing secondary battery

A negative electrode terminal includes a flange, and a connection portion disposed on a first surface of the flange. The connection portion is inserted into a terminal attachment hole. The negative electrode terminal includes a first area made of aluminium or an aluminium alloy, and a second area made of copper or a copper alloy. In the flange, the second area is disposed adjacent to the first surface, and the first area is disposed adjacent to the second surface. A boundary between the first area and the second area is disposed between the first surface and the second surface. A thinnest portion of the first area of the flange in the thickness direction of the flange has a thickness of larger than or equal to 0.3 mm. An external electroconductive member made of aluminium or an aluminium alloy is welded to the flange to form a welded portion.

Secondary cell and battery pack

A secondary battery includes an electrode body that includes a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate; an outer body that houses the electrode body; a sealing plate that is made of metal and seals an opening of the outer body; and a positive electrode terminal that is electrically connected to the positive electrode plate. At least part of the positive electrode terminal is disposed on the battery outer side with respect to the sealing plate. An external insulating member made of resin is disposed between the sealing plate and the positive electrode terminal. The conduction path between the positive electrode plate and the positive electrode terminal is provided with a current interrupting mechanism. An electrically insulating, heat-resistant layer is disposed between the positive electrode terminal and the sealing plate.

A negative electrode includes a first region formed of a first material and a second region formed of a second material having a different ionization tendency from the first material. The negative electrode terminal includes a flange that is disposed so as to face the outer surface of a sealing plate. A sealing plate side insulating member is disposed between the flange and the sealing plate. A boundary between the first region and the second region has an exposed part that is exposed to the outside, and the exposed part is positioned at an opposite corner on the periphery of the flange to the sealing plate.

Secondary battery including terminal having first region formed of material with different ionization tendency than material of second region of terminal

A square secondary battery includes an electrode body including a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, a square outer package housing the electrode body, a metal sealing plate sealing an opening of the square outer package, and a positive electrode collector electrically connected to the positive electrode plate and the sealing plate. The positive electrode collector includes a base portion disposed to oppose the sealing plate, and a lead portion extending from an edge portion of the base portion towards the electrode body. In a short direction of the sealing plate, a boundary between the base portion and the lead portion is positioned on a first side with respect to a center of the sealing plate, and a connection between the sealing plate and the base portion of the positive electrode collector is offset to a second side with respect to the center of the sealing plate.

Square secondary battery and method of manufacturing same

A prismatic secondary battery includes an electrode body including a positive-electrode sheet and a negative-electrode sheet, a prismatic exterior body that accommodates the electrode body, a sealing plate that seals an opening of the prismatic exterior body, and a negative terminal electrically connected to the negative-electrode sheet. The prismatic secondary battery is arranged such that the sealing plate extends in the vertical direction during use of the prismatic secondary battery. The positive-electrode sheet is electrically connected to the sealing plate. The sealing plate has a recessed portion on an outer surface and a terminal insertion hole formed in the recessed portion. The negative terminal is inserted in the terminal insertion hole. An outer insulating member is disposed between the negative terminal and the sealing plate. The sealing plate has a first groove extending to an end of the recessed portion in the longitudinal direction of the sealing plate.

A prismatic secondary battery includes an electrode body including a positive-electrode sheet and a negative-electrode sheet, a prismatic exterior body that accommodates the electrode body, a sealing plate that seals an opening of the prismatic exterior body, and a negative terminal electrically connected to the negative-electrode sheet. The positive-electrode sheet is electrically connected to the sealing plate. The sealing plate has a recessed portion on an outer surface and a terminal insertion hole formed in the recessed portion. The negative terminal is inserted in the terminal insertion hole. An outer insulating member is disposed between the negative terminal and the sealing plate. The sealing plate has a first groove extending to an end of the recessed portion in the longitudinal direction of the sealing plate.
