A housing unit of a Roots pump includes a rotor housing, which includes a peripheral wall, and a cover member, which closes an opening of the rotor housing. At least one of a mating surface of the peripheral wall or a mating surface of the cover member includes an annular first groove accommodating a seal member. The rotor housing includes a bulging portion including a second groove. The seal member incudes first projections, which project from an annular seal body, and a second projection, which projects further radially inward from the seal body than the first projections. Each first projection includes a distal end that contacts a side surface on a radially inner side or on a radially outer side of the first groove. The second projection is arranged in the second groove to determine the position of the seal body in the first groove.

A seal member includes pushing projections that project from a seal body toward at a groove inner-side circumferential surface and are arranged at intervals in a circumferential direction of the seal body. The pushing projections push the seal body against the groove inner-side circumferential surface and a groove outer-side circumferential surface between the groove inner-side circumferential surface and the groove outer-side circumferential surface. This reduces the gap between the groove outer-side circumferential surface and the seal member in the seal accommodating groove. Thus, salt water is unlikely to collect in the gap between the groove outer-side circumferential surface of the seal accommodating groove and the seal member. This improves the corrosion resistance of the housing and the seal member.

Fluid machine

An intake noise reduction device that can mitigate deformation of a flow-regulating net portion made of an elastic body. The intake noise reduction deviceis made of an elastic body that is disposed downstream of a throttle valve and includes an annular gasket portionand a flow-regulating net portionprovided inside the gasket portionintegrally with the gasket portion, constituted by a linear portion having a mesh shape. The linear portion having the mesh shape constituting the flow-regulating net portionincludes first linear partsthat extend radially and second linear partsthat extend circumferentially. One of any given two parts of the first linear parton a radially outer side has a width larger than or equal to that of the other part on a radially inner side, and a radially outermost part of the first linear part has a larger width than a radially innermost part.

Intake noise reduction device

A gasket made of a rubber-like elastic material is mounted in a mounting groove provided in one of two opposing members and is gripped between the one member and the other member so as to be in pressure contact with the two members. The gasket includes: a body section inserted in the mounting groove; one support protrusion provided on one side of the body section so as to be located on the side of the body section, and mounted in a deep groove provided on the bottom; the other support protrusion extending in a tilted manner from the other end side, in the width direction, of the body section toward the bottom in the direction away from the one support protrusion; and a lip ridge protrusion provided on the side of the body section, and located so that the tip thereof does not overlap the one support protrusion.

Gasket

The invention provides a gasket which can be easily formed, can be highly compressed with a low reaction force, and is highly reliable. A gasket consisting of a rubber-like elastic material is mounted in a mounting groove formed in one of two mutually opposing members and is pinched between one member and another member so as to be in pressure-contact with both the members. The gasket has a body section inserted into the mounting groove, one support protrusion provided on the side of the body section which faces the bottom of the mounting groove, located on one end side of the body section in the width direction thereof, and in contact with the bottom, and a lip protrusion provided on the side of the body section which faces another member and having a tip located at substantially the center of the body section in the width direction thereof.
