A cover body of an air-bag device for covering an air bag includes a cover body part and an emblem attached to the front side of the cover body part. The emblem includes a planar light source, a light-transmissive panel covering the planar light source and a decoration component fixed to the cover body part to retain an outer circumferential part of the panel. The panel includes a panel part and an engagement part which is provided on the outer circumferential part of the panel part and engaged with the decoration component.

An airbag includes: an airbag body formed in a bag shape with an occupant-side panel facing an occupant and an opposite-side panel facing a steering wheel in a deployed state; and a flow regulator arranged inside the airbag body and configured to regulate a direction of flow of gas supplied from an inflator. The flow regulator includes: a flow-regulator body arranged such that at least part of the flow-regulator body faces the inflator; fixed portions provided at mutually separated positions on the flow-regulator body and fixed to the opposite-side panel; and a notch provided between the fixed portions in a recessed shape toward a center of the flow-regulator body and forming a gas passage port between the notch and the opposite-side panel, the gas passage port being a port through which the gas supplied from the inflator flows.

The present invention provides a steering wheel. Among respective hooks of a module, the hooks being adapted to engage with wires which are disposed in respective opening portions of a steering wheel main body, an adjustment rib which is provided so as to be protrusive to an outer circumferential face of one side hook comes into contact with an inside face of one side opening portion, and restrains a position of such one side hook in such one side opening portion. An adjustment pin which is protrusively provided at a position different from that of the adjustment rib on the outer circumferential face of such one side hook elastically comes into contact with the inside face of such one side opening portion by the adjustment rib coming into contact with the inside face of such one side opening portion.

A steering wheel includes a steering wheel body including at least two insertion openings, and an airbag module including at least two hooks inserted into the insertion openings. The hooks are held by wires so that the airbag module is supported by the steering wheel body. Either the at least two hooks or the at least two insertion holes are provided with adjustment ribs which come into contact with the other ones of the at least two hooks and the at least two openings, thereby regulating the positions of the other ones, so as to receive the weight of the airbag module applied to the steering wheel body. Accordingly, a decrease in positioning performance of the airbag module is prevented, so as to regulate the position of the airbag module in the steering wheel body with high accuracy.

A cover for an airbag device includes: a cover body including an opposed part covering an airbag housed underneath, and a tear line provided on the cover body and splitting when the airbag is inflated; and a covering material covering the opposed part of the cover body. The covering material includes: a fragile portion provided on a back surface of the covering material and at least partly overlapping with the tear line; and a stitched portion, at least part of the stitched portion being located at a position overlapping with the tear line and connected to the fragile portion.

A steering wheel includes a ring-shaped rim is to be gripped by a driver (the rim includes a rim core and a rim molding portion covering the rim core), a boss disposed at the center of the rim, plural spokes connecting the rim with the boss, an arm whose base end portion is integrated with the rim core and that is extended toward the inside of the rim core in a cantilever manner, and a vibration generator attached to the arm for generating vibrations that are to be transmitted to the rim through the arm.

A first spoke connects a first point of a boss and a first joining point of a rim. A second spoke connects a second point of the boss different from the first point of the boss and a second joining point of the rim opposite to the first joining point of the rim to the boss. Each of the first and second spokes is in a plate shape. The first spoke has a circular first hole in a portion of the first spoke located at a middle in a longitudinal direction of the first spoke and at a center in a widthwise direction of the first spoke. The second spoke has a circular second hole in a portion of the second spoke located at a middle in a longitudinal direction of the second spoke and at a center in a widthwise direction of the second spoke.

An airbag according to the present invention has: an airbag main body that is provided with a gas introduction opening; and an inner cloth portion that is arranged to cover the gas introduction opening in the airbag main body. The inner cloth portion has a first and a second opening end parts, and is fixed to a peripheral edge part of the gas introduction opening of the airbag main body while a position of the inner cloth portion is superimposed with the gas introduction opening of the airbag main body. In this manner, an airbag is caused to inflate and expand more speedily and widely in a direction which is orthogonal to an occupant's side direction, and an occupant can be buffered and supported in a stable manner so as to have a wide area from a front side irrespective of whatsoever posture seated by the occupant may be.

The present invention provides a steering wheel. Hook portions configured to engagingly fit an airbag module is directly supported by a boss portion independent of spoke portions. In addition, a tip end part's side of each of hook claws in each of the hook portions is arranged so as to be oriented to the inside of a steering wheel. With such a construction, even in the case where the airbag module is pulled in such a direction as to be spaced from a steering wheel at the time of inflation and expansion of an airbag, an engaged state between each of the hook claws and an engaged portion that is provided at the airbag module is obtained as engagement at a deeper position, and the engaged state can be established to be rigid in structure.

An airbag includes a vent hole discharging gas, a slide tether performing transition of a state of the vent hole, from an open state via a close state to the open state, by changing between a slackened state and an extended state, and a slide tether cover guiding the slide tether. The other end portion in a longitudinal direction of the slide tether body portion constitutes a first supporting point by being fastened in a direction going from the vent hole toward a mounting position of the inflator, bifurcated portions constitutes a second supporting point by the other end portion of the slide tether cover being fastened, terminal end portions of leg piece portions constitute a third supporting point by being respectively fastened. When the airbag is deployed, transition of a state of the vent hole is performed.

Airbag device

An airbag is expanded upward on the side of a passenger from a door part. A cover body which covers the airbag is formed by overlaying an outer part made of a hard resin to an inner part made of a soft resin. A supporting piece part is protruded from the cabin external side of the inner part. A to-be-ripped part is formed on the supporting piece part. On expansion of the airbag, the to-be-ripped part is ripped, thereby allowing the door part to move rotationally on the cabin internal side. Therefore, the airbag equipped at the door part can be smoothly expanded along the side face part of the cabin. Thus, an airbag apparatus is improved in appearance.
