Aimed at readily and exactly separate 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) contained in a sample, a column packing material used for separating 8-OHdG, which contains a packing material composed of a material having a straight-chain hydrocarbon group having 6 or more and 30 or less carbon atoms as a functional group, and having a carbon content over the surface of carrier of 18% or less by element ratio, wherein the packing material contains 1 cumulative percent or more and 20 cumulative percent or less, on the particle-count basis, of particles having a circle-equivalent diameter, measured using a flow-type particle image analyzer, of 0.5 &#x3bc;m or larger and 10 &#x3bc;m or smaller, is used.
