Provided is a tip seal that makes it possible to improve the durability of a tip seal installed on the tooth tip of a wall even when a continuously inclined section is provided to the wall. The tip seal is provided with: a tip seal inclined section (A) installed in a groove section of a wall in which the height changes continuously in a spiral direction; and a tip seal flat section (B) that is installed in a groove section of the wall in which the height is fixed in the spiral direction and that is adjacent to the tip seal inclined section (A). A recess () is formed at a position away from the adjacent area between the tip seal inclined section (A) and the tip seal flat section (B).

Tip seal and scroll fluid machine using same

In this scroll fluid machine, a tip seal () that is in contact with facing end plates () and that is for sealing in a fluid is provided to a tip seal groove () formed on the tooth tip of a wall (). The tooth bottoms of the end plates () have a shape in which a central section is deeper than a side section () in a width direction orthogonal to the spiral direction of a wall (). During operation, the protrusion amount (&#x3b4;) when the tip seal () protrudes from the tooth tip of the wall () in an inclined section and is in contact with the facing end plates is greater than the protrusion amount (&#x3b4;) when the tip seal () protrudes from the tooth tip of the wall () in a flat section and is in contact with the facing end plates.

A scroll fluid machine that attenuates the bending stress applied to the base of a wall body having an inclined section. The scroll fluid machine is provided with a wall body inclined section in which the distance between the facing surfaces of an end plate of a fixed scroll and an end plate of a rotating scroll that face each other continuously decreases from the outer circumferential side toward the inner circumferential side. A mesh clearance that is a gap between wall bodies formed when the wall bodies mesh with each other is larger on the outer circumferential side of the inclined section than on the inner circumferential side of the inclined section. The mesh clearance is made larger by drawing the wall surface of a wall body further back toward the central side of the wall body in the thickness direction than the original wall surface profile thereof.

The present invention improves performance of a scroll fluid machine by effectively exhibiting a function of a tip seal installed at a tooth tip of a wall body even when a continuous slope is provided to the wall body. A slope in which the distance between opposing surfaces of opposing end plates continuously reduces from the outer peripheral surface toward the inner peripheral surface is provided, and a tip seal () that comes into contact with an opposing tooth bottom so as to seal a fluid is provided to a tip seal groove () formed at a tooth tip of a wall body () corresponding to the slope. A groove bottom () of the tip seal groove () is formed into a shape in which the center portion () in the groove width direction deepest. The tip seal () is formed such that the center portion (), in the width direction, of the bottom () of the tip seal () facing the groove bottom () projects farther than both side portions ().

Scroll fluid machine and tip seal

Provided is a scroll fluid machine capable of effectively achieving performance of a tip seal installed in a tooth crest of a wall including an inclined portion. The inclined portion in which a distance between opposing surfaces of end plates facing each other gradually decreases from an outer peripheral side toward an inner peripheral side is provided. A tip seal () configured to make contact with a tooth base facing the tip seal () to perform sealing against fluid is provided in tip seal groove () formed in a tooth crest of a wall () corresponding to the inclined portion. In a stop state where a scroll () does not perform compression of fluid, an inclination height (Ls') of the tip seal () is smaller than an inclination height (Ls) of the wall ().
