Apparatuses and methods for urea dosing of an exhaust after treatment system are disclosed. Exemplary apparatuses include a chamber configured to receive pressurized gas at a first inlet, receive urea solution at a second inlet and provide a combined flow of pressurized gas and urea to an outlet, flow passage extending from the first inlet to a seating surface, and a valve member configured to move between an open position in which the valve member is spaced apart from the seating surface and a closed position in which the valve member contacts the seating surface. As the valve member moves from the open position to the closed position, the valve member contacts the seating surface at a first location and wipes an area of the seating surface extending from the first location in a direction toward the flow passage.

Urea injection systems valves

An exhaust elbow component may be located upstream of a decomposition reactor pipe and/or may be integrated with decomposition reactor pipe. The exhaust elbow component includes a mounting area for mounting a dosing module to the exhaust elbow component. The mounting area may be configured to limit the heat transfer from the elbow component to the dosing module via the mounting area. The mounting area may include a boss and one or more mounting legs. The one or more legs and/or the boss may have a surface area for convective cooling of the mounting area. The boss may include an opening through an exterior wall of the exhaust elbow component through which an injection tip of the dosing module may dose reductant into an interior chamber of the exhaust elbow. A central axis of the opening may be substantially coaxial with a central axis of the exhaust gas outlet.

Apparatuses and methods for urea dosing of an exhaust after treatment system are disclosed. System and apparatus are disclosed for reducing reductant deposit formation in an exhaust aftertreatment system. A directing device is provided in the exhaust flow path upstream of a reductant opening into the exhaust flow path. The directing device is configured to direct an exhaust flow toward the reductant opening and around the directing device to effectively mix the exhaust flow with a reductant provided through the reductant opening to reduce the formation of reductant deposits.
