A mobile device automatically determines which location of a plurality of locations of a vehicle a user of the mobile device is located at without knowing assistance of the user. The mobile device determines that the mobile device is likely in a moving vehicle and that the user is actively interacting with the mobile device. The mobile device captures an image via an optical sensor of the mobile device without assistance from the user for the capture. The mobile device determines a location of the user within the vehicle based upon an analysis of the image. The analysis includes an execution of a model that utilizes at least the captured image as an input to determine the location. The mobile device, after determining the location, performs one or more actions.

Non-intrusive intra-vehicular user location detection

A secure communication channel between an access point (AP) device associated with a wireless network and a mobile gateway (GW) device of a packet core network is established. Data is exchanged between the wireless network and the packet core network through the secure channel. A client device (UE) is authenticated through the secure communication channel. Device identity information is received from the AP device. A session request is sent to the packet core network. An IP address for the device is received from the packet core network. The communication between the AP device and the packet core network becomes secure without need to run an IP secure protocol on the UE that saves the battery power on the UE. Establishing the fully secure communication between the UE and the packet core network while saving the UE power provides a significant advantage for the mobile technology world.

Methods and apparatuses to provide secure communication between an untrusted wireless access network and a trusted controlled network

A network element is configured to receive a first packet from a first eNodeB (eNB) of the packet network via a first secured X2 link. The network element decrypts the first packet to reveal a second packet encapsulated within the first packet. The network element determines a second secured X2 link associated with a second eNB as an intended recipient of the second packet. The network element encrypts the second packet to generate a third packet and transmits the third packet to the second eNB via the second secured X2 link. The network is coupled to various eNBs of the packet network via various secured X2 links, respectively.

Method and system for securely routing traffic on X2 interface in a 3GPP network

According to one aspect, a mobility gateway device (MGW) receives a request from a wireless local area network (WLAN) controller of a WLAN for accessing the Internet or a packet core network, where the request is originated from a user equipment communicatively coupled to the WLAN. In response to the request, the MGW is configured to determine whether there is an active session associated with the UE over a wireless wide area network (WWAN). If so, the MGW assigns an IP address to the UE that was assigned to the UE during the active session of the WWAN. The assigned IP address is used by the UE to access the Internet or the packet core network over the WLAN.
