There are provided systems and methods for assisting consumers with merchandise purchases at a retail facility. The system may include an application to facilitate purchase of merchandise items at a retail facility, which may be executed on a user's mobile device. The application may receive input regarding items scanned at the retail facility using the mobile device and may facilitate payment for the scanned items by the mobile device. The system may also include a control circuit that: accesses database(s) to determine the user's purchase history; determines candidate items to be considered for recommendation to the user; computes a ranking of candidate items based on a weighted combination of recency and frequency of purchases of each candidate item, merchandise category of other candidate items, and price of the candidate item; and causes the display on the mobile device of additional recommended merchandise items for purchase by the user.

Systems and methods for assisting with merchandise purchases at a retail facility

In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to generating query suggestions. In some embodiments, a system for generating query suggestions for retail may comprise a database comprising a query index, the query index comprising a search tree having a plurality of nodes, each of the plurality of nodes comprising a query and one or more query scores for the query, and a control circuit coupled to the database and configured to receive a query prefix from a user interface of a retail channel, retrieve, based on the query prefix, query candidates and the query scores corresponding to the query candidates from the search tree of the query index, and select, based on the query scores corresponding to the query candidates, one or more query suggestions from the query candidates.

Systems and methods for generating query suggestions

In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to generating query suggestions. In some embodiments, a system for generating query suggestions for retail comprises a database comprising a query index including queries and query scores, and a control circuit configured to receive a query prefix from a user interface of a retail channel, retrieve, from the query index and based on the query prefix, query correction candidates, calculate edit distances for each of the query correction candidates, select, based on the edit distances, one or more query suggestions from the query correction candidates, calculate, based on the edit distances, a prefix completion cost for each of the query suggestions, calculate, based on the prefix completion costs and the query scores, the query correction costs for each of the query suggestions, and sort, based on the query correction costs, the query suggestions.

Some embodiments provide systems to identify products comprising: product vector database; a plurality of portable computing devices comprising a camera and a control circuit configured to: access an image captured by the camera; perform an optical character recognition on the image; apply a vector modeling rule to key text, generate a first query product vector and wirelessly communicate the first query product vector to the product recommendation system; the product recommendation system is configured to apply a vector evaluation rule to the first query product vector to identify a first product; and wirelessly communicate to the portable computing device the first product identifier; wherein the control circuit receives the first product identifier, accesses a product information, causes product information to be displayed; and causes the first product to be virtually added to a virtual cart.

In some embodiments, there is provided a system for automatically recommending an item to a customer comprising a plurality of items available for purchase; a portable electronic device configured to obtain identifying data corresponding to a first item collected by a user; and a control circuit configured to receive data associated with the first item; determine a location in the retail store of the first item; identify one or more items previously purchased by the user that are located within a threshold proximity to the location; determine a most frequently bought item of the identified one or more items; and cause a portable electronic device to display a suggestion for the user to collect the most frequently bought item and add the most frequently bought item to an electronic shopping list of items to purchase.
