A method comprising receiving data representing light intensity values corresponding to a flicker pattern of a reference light source powered by an alternating current (AC); operating a controllable illumination source, based, at least in part, on said data; capturing, using an imaging device, a sequence of images of a scene illuminated, at least in part, by said controllable illumination source; estimating an intensity value for at least one pixel in said array, correspondingly in each of said images in said sequence of images; and determining a temporal point in said flicker pattern of said reference light source, based, at least in part, on said estimating.

Computational imaging of the electric grid

Systems and methods for imaging scenes illuminated by light sources that are powered by alternating current. Data concerning these light sources are extracted from the imagery. Systems comprising a rolling shutter imaging sensor and configured to de-flicker images with spatial flicker are also provided.

A system for wide-scale light field imaging comprising: a network of multiple terrestrial cameras positioned at multiple known locations, where each of the cameras comprises a wide-angle lens directed towards the sky and configured to capture one or more images of the sky, and a processor configured to operate a wired and/or wireless communications infrastructure for transmitting the captured images; and a server configured to receive the wirelessly transmitted images and jointly process the received images, thereby producing a wide-scale light field image of the sky.

A method for packet loss concealment, that includes: continuously receiving a digital audio stream; extracting audio features from the digital audio stream while the digital audio stream is unharmed; and upon detecting a gap in the digital audio stream, filling the gap with one or more previous segments of the digital audio stream, wherein the filling is based on a matching of the one or more of the extracted audio features with one or more audio features adjacent to the gap.

A method for cross-modal signal denoising, the method comprising using at least one hardware processor for: providing a first multi-modal signal comprising at least two relatively clear modalities; correlating features exhibited simultaneously in the at least two relatively clear modalities of the first multi-modal signal; providing a second multi-modal signal comprising at least one relatively noisy modality and at least one relatively clear modality; and denoising the at least one relatively noisy modality of the second multi-modal signal by associating between (a) features exhibited in the at least one relatively noisy modality of the second multi-modal signal and (b) the features of the first multi-modal signal.

Example-based cross-modal denoising

A system and method are provided for imaging in scattering media such as fog, water and biological tissues. Normally, such images suffer from poor visibility due to backscattering and signal attenuation. At least two images are taken of the scene using active widefield polarized illumination, with different states of a camera-mounted polarizer. The degree of polarization of backscatter is estimated in every point of the scene, leading to an estimation of the backscatter in every point of the scene. A portion or all of the value of backscatter can be deducted in each point of the scene resulting in an enhanced image with improved contrast and brightness range across the field of view.

Imaging systems and methods for recovering object visibility

Apparatus for isolation of a media stream of a first modality from a complex media source having at least two media modality, and multiple objects, and events, comprises: recording devices for the different modalities; an associator for associating between events recorded in said first modality and events recorded in said second modality, and providing an association output; and an isolator that uses the association output for isolating those events in the first mode correlating with events in the second mode associated with a predetermined object, thereby to isolate a isolated media stream associated with said predetermined object. Thus it is possible to identify events such as hand or mouth movements, and associate these with sounds, and then produce a filtered track of only those sounds associated with the events. In this way a particular speaker or musical instrument can be isolated from a complex scene.

Method and apparatus for the use of cross modal association to isolate individual media sources

A method for enhancing underwater imaging affected by image degradation effects, the method comprising: acquiring at least one image of an underwater scene using an imaging device; determining information regarding distances of parts of the scene relative to the imaging device; and reconstructing an image of the underwater scene using a physics-based mathematical model, compensating image characteristics influenced by distance-dependent underwater degradation effects including veiling light, using the information on the distances of parts of the scene from the imaging device, and compensating distance-dependent underwater degradation effects relating to the distance of illumination sources from the scene.
