A method and a system for color converting an HT image according to a desired color conversion. The method includes the steps of dilating the HT image to form a dilated HT image, converting the original HT image and the dilated HT image to CT images, color converting the CT image from the original HT image to form a converted CT image, and then using the CT images as a guide to interpolate between the dilated and the original HT images.

Method and system for half tone color conversion

A method for automatically matching the color of a printed representation of an object or swatch to that of the object or swatch itself is provided. The method includes the steps of measuring the colors of the object with a calorimeter. An object image, showing mainly the object, is produced and a representative image color is determined. From the colors of the object (as measured by a colorimeter or some other color measuring device), a representative object color is determined. Finally, the colors of the object image in the vicinity, in color space, of the representative image color are corrected to colors in the vicinity, also in color space, of the representative object color.

Method for matching colors of an object to printing colors

A method and apparatus for adapting a digital representation of a first color image for output representation by an output device having spatial and color characteristics are disclosed. The apparatus includes apparatus for modifying the spatial characteristics of the digital representation of the first color image and the color characteristics of the first color image to correspond to the spatial and color characteristics of the output device such that, in an output representation, the color characteristics of the first color image would be substantially preserved. Apparatus and techniques for processing of data such as color images

There is disclosed technique and apparatus for calibrating a color processing device. The technique includes the steps of comparing a first digital representation of a colored image with a second digital representation thereof and employing at least the transformation to control operation of the color processing device to be calibrated. The first digital representation defines a plurality of first non-scalar color values and the second digital representation defines a plurality of second non-scalar color values corresponding to the plurality of the first non-scalar color values, thereby to provide a transformation pairing each individual one of the first non-scalar color values with a value relatively close to the corresponding one of the second non-scalar color values. The color processing device may be calibrated generally without reference to human aesthetic judgement. There is additionally provided a method and apparatus For transforming an element off a domain of a first color printing device to an element of a domain of a second color printing device. The method comprises the steps of providing a first transformation from a first digital representation of a colored image to a second digital representation thereof and a second transformation from a third digital representation of a colored image to a fourth digital representation thereof and comparing the first transformation with the second transformation. The second transformation corresponds to the second color printing device, the first transformation corresponds to the first color printing device and the second and fourth digital representations are defined within a single color space.
