In accordance with an embodiment, a device configured to detect a presence of at least one digital pattern within a signal includes J memory circuits having respectively Nj memory locations; and processing circuitry comprising an accumulator configured to successively address the memory locations of the J memory circuits in a circular manner at frequency F and during an acquisition time, and successively accumulate and store values indicative of a signal intensity in parallel in the J addressed memory locations of the J memory circuits, and a detector configured to detect the possible presence of the at least one pattern.

The analog channel signal conveys frames, the transmission channel being linear and cyclostationary for a duration of a frame. The method may include converting of the analog channel signal into a digital channel signal, and performing channel estimations for the frame based upon the digital channel signal to generate a sequence of N transfer functions of the transmission channel. Each of the sequence of N transfer functions may be respectively associated with N successive time slices. The method may include decoding at least some symbols of the frame using, for each of the symbols, a transfer function associated with a successive time slice including a respective symbol.

The electronic device also includes a second UART configured to communicate with the first UART, operating as a slave. The second UART has a controller configured to generate a frequency shift based upon the operating frequency of the radio being evenly divisible by the baud rate, and a baud clock generator. The baud clock generator is configured to generate an operating baud rate from a master clock signal, with the operating baud rate to be the baud rate shifted by the frequency shift. Transmitter circuitry is configured to operate based on the operating baud rate, and receiver circuitry is configured to operate based on the operating baud rate.
