Provided is a blood filter that resists deterioration in properties as a result of electron beam sterilization treatment performed before or during use as a blood filter, has durability, dimensional stability, and chemical resistance at excellent levels, also has biocompatibility, and resists deterioration in properties even upon the electron beam sterilization treatment. The blood filter according to the present invention includes a nonwoven fabric made of PEEK fibers. Preferably, the blood filter according to the present invention has an average pore size of 3 to 280 &#x3bc;m and has a porosity of 15% to 70%; and the PEEK fibers have an average fiber diameter of 10 &#x3bc;m or less.

Provided is a bone fixation material that does not deteriorate in properties even by an electron beam sterilization treatment performed before or during use as a bone fixation material, has fatigue resistance, wear resistance, and dimensional stability at excellent levels, also has biocompatibility, and offers excellent osteoconnectivity. The bone fixation material according to the present invention includes a nonwoven fabric made of PEEK fibers. The bone fixation material according to the present invention preferably has an average pore size of 3 to 280 &#x3bc;m and preferably has a porosity of 15% to 70%. The PEEK fibers preferably have an average fiber diameter of 10 &#x3bc;m or less.

[Solving Means] A multilayer assembly includes a base and, arranged on at least one side thereof, a porous layer and has a large number of continuous micropores with an average pore diameter of 0.01 to 10 &#x3bc;m. The multilayer assembly suffers from no interfacial delamination between the base and the porous layer when examined in a tape peeling test according to the following procedure: A 24-mm wide masking tape [Film Masking Tape No. 603 (#25)] supplied by Teraoka Seisakusho Co., Ltd. is applied to a surface of the porous layer of the multilayer assembly and press-bonded thereto with a roller having a diameter of 30 mm and a load of 200 gf to give a sample; and the sample is subjected to a T-peel test with a tensile tester at a peel rate of 50 mm/min.

A porous film with chemical resistance of this invention includes a porous film base covered with a chemical-resistant polymeric compound and has a multiplicity of communicating micropores having an average pore size of 0.01 to 10 &#x3bc;m. The chemical-resistant polymeric compound can be, for example, any of phenolic resins, urea resins, melamine resins, benzoguanamine resins, polyimide resins, epoxy resins, benzoxazine resins, polypropylene resins, polyurethane resins, fluororesins, alkyd resins, cellulose acetate resins, phthalic resins, maleic resins, and silicone resins.

Porous films with chemical resistance

A porous film of the invention is a porous film having a large number of continuous micropores. The film has a thickness of 5 to 200 &#x3bc;m, has an average surface pore size A of 0.01 to 10 &#x3bc;m, an average surface porosity C, and has an average inside pore size B and an average inside porosity D. The ratio A/B of A to B is 0.3 to 3. The porous film is produced by casting a polymer solution containing a polymer onto a substrate to form a film and subjecting the film to phase conversion to thereby form a porous film. In the method, the polymer constituting the porous film has a surface tension Sa [mN/m], the substrate has a surface tension Sb [mN/m], and Sa and Sb satisfy the following condition: Sa&#x2212;Sb&#x2267;&#x2212;10.

Gas generating composition

A gas generating composition for use in a pretensioner, which generates less CO gases and chlorine-containing gases after combustion and is superior in thermal stability and in producing and processing, is obtained. The gas generating composition for use in a pretensioner comprises a highly thermal stabilized binder, an oxidizing agent, and, if required, a chlorine-neutralizing agent as major ingredients. The gas generating composition can improve thermal stability of a gas generating agent, can reduce the amount of CO gases, is excellent in producing and processing, and can reduce chlorine-containing gases if required.

The gas generator includes an outer shell vessel, an ignition unit disposed within the vessel, a gas generating material for generating a gas in response to the operation of the ignition unit, a gas generating material accommodation chamber for accommodating the gas generating material therein, and a gas discharge chamber isolated from the gas generating material accommodation chamber by a partition member, wherein the gas discharge chamber includes a discharge port that makes the inside of the gas discharge chamber communicate with the atmosphere, and a gas discharge unit which is operated upon receiving an operating signal, for rupturing the partition member to discharge the gas.

A gas-generant-molded-article for air bags which is prepared by molding a gas generant composition into a cylindrical form containing an opening hole, wherein the relationship between the linear burning velocity r (mm/second) of said gas generant composition under a pressure of 70 kgf/cm and a thickness W (mm) of said molded article falls within a range represented by 0.005&lE;W/(2&middot;r)&lE;0.3, with the linear burning velocity preferably falling within a range of from 1 to 12.5 mm/second.
