The present disclosure is directed toward systems, computer-readable media, and methods for generating a personalized selfie reaction-element in connection social media content. For example, the systems and methods described herein generate a personalized selfie reaction-element including a multi-media item and one or more elements and/or enhancements. The systems and method described herein can then provide the personalized selfie reaction-element for use in connection with various types of social media content including communication threads, ephemeral content, posts, and direct messages.

In addition, the disclosed systems can generate user requests to join the group messaging thread based on user interaction with a group messaging graphical element within ephemeral content and can present the requests to the creator of the ephemeral content. Accordingly, in various embodiments, the disclosed systems can facilitate group messaging threads between creators of ephemeral content and users that view the ephemeral content via associated group messaging graphical elements.

Techniques for presenting a featured skill of a first member of a social network system are described. An example system presents the featured skill on a profile page of the first member. The system can receive a request to view the profile page from a device of a second member. Additionally, profile data of the first and second members can be accessed, the profile data including skills associated with the first member. An endorser value can be determined for the first member based on a reputation score, the endorser value being associated with the first member having a specific skill. Moreover, a quality score for each skill in the skills can be calculated using the endorser value and the profile data. Furthermore, the featured skill can be selected based on the quality score. Subsequently, a user interface can present the featured skill on the profile page of the first member.
