The parser is configured to detect a predetermined setting of a response code within an authentication response sent by the processor in response to an authentication request received from the reader/writer device, the predetermined setting indicating that an application of the processing unit is in an authenticated state. A further controller controls the communication unit not to respond to an anti-collision request received from the reader/writer device and/or not to forward an anti-collision request to the processor if the anti-collision request is directed to an application in an authenticated state.
