A method of transferring a deferred vertical synchronous signal and an image signal processor executing the method thereof are disclosed. Once the vertical synchronous signal for a kframe is inputted from an encoding unit after a capture command is inputted, the method transmits a defer control command for a (k+1)frame to an image sensor. Then, a return control command is transmitted to the image sensor if encoding of the kframe is completed. With the present invention, complete encoding of image data becomes possible.

An aspect of the present invention features an apparatus for compensating color deviation of an image that has uneven color deviation. The apparatus can comprises: a color deviation analyzing module that analyzes luminance of each color component of each pixel composing the image and determines a color component having the highest or lowest rate of luminance change as an object color component, wherein the rate of luminance change is analyzed in the direction from a central pixel to a corner pixel of the image; a compensation table generating module that creates a plurality of sections from a beginning point, depending on a distance from the central pixel, and generates a compensation table for boundary pixels of each section with compensation values that are produced based on the luminance of the object color component; a compensation image generating module that generates a compensation image for the whole image, using the compensation table; and a compensating module that compensates the color deviation by applying the compensation image to the image.

Disclosed are a lens shading compensation apparatus and a lens shading compensation method in an image sensor that compensate the difference in signal amplitude according to the position of pixels to preserve the quality of a primitive image. The lens shading compensation apparatus includes a pixel value analyzing part, an auto exposure value setting part, a central pixel detecting part, a table generating part, a pixel location calculating part, a mask image generating part and a compensation part. The above apparatus and method perform a color interpolation individually for red, green and blue, and then compensate a lens shading image for each color in accordance with its characteristics. Also the above apparatus and method can analyze and compensate a lens shading phenomenon without considering other colors or being interrupted by other colors.

The invention relates to a method and apparatus for compensating the lens shading phenomenon in image sensor. The invention first stores an inputted compensation reference value, identifies a center pixel using digital image signals received sequentially in correspondence to each pixel from a sensor, generates analysis data corresponding to each pixel, generates and stores block compensation values for blocks grouped according to the distance from the center pixel, calculates the distance from a compensation target pixel to the center pixel, calculates a compensation value corresponding to the compensation target pixel using the block compensation value corresponding to the distance, and generates for output correction pixel data by aggregating analysis data and the compensation value corresponding to the compensation target pixel. Thus, the invention allows the maintaining of colors as close as possible to the original through the respective compensation of RGB which takes into consideration the respective characteristics of the color filters and through the respective compensation of gain and level for the disparity in transmissivity according to position.

In an image signal processor of the present invention, a process clock rate or an output clock rate for a preview mode is applied differently from a process clock rate or an output clock rate for a capture mode. The image brightness correction apparatus correcting the brightness of an image by using a correction curve can include an image input unit, receiving an image; a correction gradient selection unit, selecting a gradient of the correction curve corresponding to an object pixel, having the brightness desired to be corrected, of pixels of the image; a correction performance unit, converting original brightness of the object pixel into correction brightness according to the correction curve having the selected gradient; and an image output unit, outputting the image allowing the object pixel to have the correction brightness by the correction performance unit; whereas the correction curve increases the contrast of the corresponding correction brightness if the original brightness is the same as or smaller than a predetermined brightness, and the correction curve decreases the contrast of the corresponding correction brightness if the original brightness is larger than a predetermined brightness. With the present invention, a dynamic range of an image is smooth and the contrast of the image is acquired.

A method for detecting color temperature and an apparatus thereof are disclosed. According to the present invention, the apparatus for detecting color temperature converts RGB color information, generated by interpolating an image signal sequentially inputted in units of pixel from an image sensor, to a three-dimensional coordinate value of luminance, R-G color difference information, and B-G color difference information, and then renews the added value per color, if included in a filtering zone corresponding to a characteristic curve of the image sensor. Then, an average value per color is generated in units of frame, and the compensation rate per color is determined such that the average value per color becomes identical to each other. With the present invention, accurate colors can be displayed by detecting the color temperature of the current light source and correcting the distorted color information.

The present invention is related to a method and an apparatus for processing a dead pixel, more specifically to a method and an apparatus thereof for detecting and compensating a dead pixel that can maintain a good image quality by reducing image distortion and deterioration. With the present invention, the distortion of an image, caused by erroneously classifying a normal pixel of an inputted image as a dead pixel, is significantly reduced, thereby improving the quality of a processed image. Moreover, based on the characteristics of the inputted image, the algorithm and accuracy of detecting a dead pixel can be adjusted.
