The present invention provides a biomatrix layer comprising, consisting essentially of or consisting of a sulfated oligosaccharide at a concentration in the range of 0.1 &#x3bc;M to 1,000 &#x3bc;M and a peptide-polyethylene glycol-conjugate according to formula (I): PEG-R1-(BX)n (I) wherein B is lysine or arginine, X is selected from alanine, glycine, serine, threonine, tyrosine, glutamic acid or aspartic acid and n is an integer selected from 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20; Rmay be absent or is a peptide comprising 5 to 30 amino acids; PEG is comprised at a concentration in the range of 0.1 &#x3bc;M to 1,000 &#x3bc;M; R1, if present, is comprised at a concentration in the range of 0.1 &#x3bc;M to 4,000 &#x3bc;M; (BX)n is comprised at a concentration in the range of 0.25 &#x3bc;M to 1,000 &#x3bc;M. The invention further relates to processes for assembling the biomatrix layer. The biomatrix layer can be used in various biomedical applications, such as neuroprostheses, biosensors, nerve grafts, cell culture and encapsulation of cells and microorganisms as well as for drug delivery.

A method for the deconvolution of nucleic acid-containing substance mixtures using synthetically generated target nucleotide sequences. Starting from a plurality of nucleotides,, a plurality of different target nucleotide sequences (TNS) is generated according to a predetermined algorithm. At least one of the TNS generated is associated with at least one substance or substance combination and chemically coupled thereto. At least one substance mixture to be analysed and having at least two different TNS is provided and is sequenced according to a sequencing method., at the same time all TNS contained in the substance mixture are detected in a common sequence spectrum. To facilitate the deconvolution, the sequence spectra of a substance mixture should be deducted/subtracted from each other prior to and after a selection experiment.

The present invention relates to a method for the sensitive identification of high-affinity complexes made of two ligands () and one receptor (). A large number of different ligands () of a chemical library are hereby contacted with at least one receptor () in a solution. The ligands of the library have a single-strand DNA () or RNA with a base length of 2 to 10 bases or alternatively more than 10 bases. In addition, the solution is incubated for a specific period of time and complexes made of two ligands () and one receptor () are identified.
