The CND includes a policy manager circuit structured to interpret a policy comprising a network regulation description and an external communication permission value; a configuration circuit structured to configure at least one network interface circuit in response to the policy and to configure at least one gatekeeper interface circuit in response to the policy; the at least one network interface circuit structured to regulate communications between end points of the first and second network zone; and the gatekeeper interface circuit configured to regulate communications between end points of at least one of the first network zone or the second network zone and an external device.

The parameter acquisition circuit interprets a vehicle parameter value. An apparatus that includes a converged network device (CND), a parameter acquisition circuit, a property translation circuit, a parameter conditioning circuit, and a vehicle property provisioning circuit. The CND regulates communications between a first network zone having a first network endpoint and a second network zone having a second network endpoint. A plurality of vehicle parameter values is generated by the first and the second network endpoints. The parameter acquisition circuit interprets the plurality of vehicle parameter values. The property translation circuit interprets a property request value that comprises at least a portion of a requested vehicle property. The parameter conditioning circuit generates, in response to the property request value, vehicle property data from the plurality of vehicle parameter values, the vehicle property data corresponding to the requested vehicle property. The vehicle property provisioning circuit transmits the vehicle property data to an external device.

A vehicle that includes a vehicle communication system including a policy manager circuit configured to interpret a data collection policy including a trigger condition, a vehicle data identifier configured to identify vehicle data to be captured in response to a trigger event occurrence, and a trigger evaluation data identifier configured to identify trigger evaluation data to be captured in response to the trigger condition; and an end point configured to provide a raw vehicle data stream including a trigger evaluation data stream and an identified vehicle data stream in response to the data collection policy.

A system including a vehicle having a network comprising a plurality of end points and a controller, where the controller includes an automation definition circuit, an automation management circuit, and an automation execution circuit. The automation definition circuit is structured to interpret a task description. The automation management circuit is structured to provide a task action plan in response to the task description. The automation management circuit is structured to provide an automated action plan in response to the automation description. The policy acquisition circuit interprets a data collection policy comprising at least one requested vehicle property. The policy processing circuit determines a property request value in response to the at least one requested vehicle property. The parameter acquisition circuit interprets vehicle parameter values from providing end points each on at least one network zone of a vehicle. The parameter storage circuit selectively stores a portion of the vehicle parameter values. A first portion of the stored portion of the vehicle parameter values is stored on a storage end point distinct from an associated one of the providing end points for the at least a first portion of the stored vehicle parameter values. The parameter storage circuit also determines a reserved memory amount by determining an amount of data to be collected to support the at least a portion of the vehicle parameter values.

An apparatus that includes a parameter acquisition circuit, a parameter conditioning circuit, and a parameter storage circuit. The parameter acquisition circuit interprets a plurality of vehicle parameter values. The parameter conditioning circuit conditions the plurality of vehicle parameter values for storage in one or more cache devices. The parameter storage circuit stores the conditioned plurality of vehicle parameter values in the one or more cache devices.
