A method of forming a sloped roof can comprise obtaining a base layer comprising at least one of a permeable mesh, woven fabric, non-woven fabric, plastic, foam material or combinations thereof; applying the base layer over a roofing substrate of the sloped roof; and applying a liquid roofing material to the base layer to form a liquid applied roof.

Liquid applied roofing systems and methods for forming roofs

Adhesive-less roofing systems are provided. A roofing system comprises a roofing substrate and at least two roofing membranes. The at least two roofing membranes are located on the roofing substrate. The at least two roofing membranes are partially overlapping, so as to form an overlapping portion. Each of the at least two roofing membranes independently comprises a crosslinked polymer and a boron-containing compound. Related roofing materials and related methods, among other things, are also provided.

Adhesive-less roofing systems and related methods

A roofing composite membrane includes a base layer including a first thermoplastic polyolefin. A weight of the base layer is between 5 and 25 grams per square foot. A coating layer at least partially coats the base layer. The coating layer includes at least one inorganic additive, and a second thermoplastic polyolefin including polypropylene and having a melt flow rate between 0.5 grams per 10 minutes and 12 grams per 10 minutes.

Composite membrane for building applications

A two component roof coating system and method includes a sufficiently porous fabric attachable to a roof deck. A first component of the two component roof coating may be applied to the fabric after it is attached to the roof. Alternatively, fabric may be pre-soaked with the first component prior to attachment. A second component of the two component roof coating may then be applied to the fabric. The first and second components react with each other to form a waterproof roof coating. The fabric can hold the components in place and prevent sagging.

Matrix assisted two component roof coating system and method

A hail resistant roofing system and method includes a roofing substrate such as a shingle or tile or membrane having an array of exposed upwardly projecting features. The features may rise to sharp points and may have side surfaces that are angled relative to the plane of the roofing substrate. The features are spaced and arranged so that a large hail stone capable of damaging the roofing substrate will always impact one or more of the exposed features. This can break up the hail stone into smaller benign pieces or can redirect the energy and direction of the hail stone so that the impact is absorbed without damage to the roofing substrate.

A system including a first roofing material installed on the roof deck; a second roofing material installed on the roof deck, adjacent to the first roofing material, where the second roofing material includes: a first layer comprising silicone; and a first substrate, where the first layer partially covers a surface of the first substrate, thereby to provide at least a first area of the surface of the first substrate not covered by the first layer, where the first roofing material overlaps at least a portion of the first area; and a flashing material including silicone, where the flashing material covers a portion of each of: the first roofing material, the first layer of the second roofing material, and the first area of the second roofing material.

Methods and systems for imparting visual features to a liquid applied roof, such as for forming a residential roof, include using overlapping strips of underlayment, underlayment with varying densities, underlayment with raised features, and underlayment with a gridded surface among others. Visual features also can be imparted by mixing different colors of a liquid applied roofing material, embedding floating particles in a liquid applied roofing material, embedding colored flakes in a liquid applied roofing material or spraying colored flakes onto a liquid applied roof before skinning, creating texture as the liquid applied roofing material is applied, and using stencils or printing techniques to impart visual features.

Methods and systems for imparting visual features to liquid applied residential roofs

Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate roofing membranes that may include at least one first layer including a first plurality of protrusions; at least one second layer including a second plurality of protrusions; and a plurality of inner regions disposed between a raised protrusion of the first plurality of protrusions and a raised protrusion of the second plurality of protrusions. Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods of forming roofing membranes. The methods may include applying a blowable ink onto at least one porous layer; sandwiching the at least one porous layer between the at least one first layer and the at least one second layer; and expanding the blowable ink, so as to form the first plurality of protrusions, the second plurality of protrusions, and the plurality of inner regions.

Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods and roofing systems including a hybrid layered structure. In some embodiments, the hybrid layered layer structure, method, and system are used for waterproofing at least one steep slope roof substrate. In some embodiments, the at least one steep slope roof substrate at least one protruding member protruding from the at least one steep slope roof substrate. In some embodiments, the hybrid layered structure comprises a first coating layer, a roofing membrane, and a second coating layer.
