Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to monitor search spaces on a primary cell and an secondary cell in a carrier aggregation configuration. The UE may monitor the search spaces for control information according to a shared search space monitoring configuration. Based on the shared search space monitoring configuration, the UE may identify that the secondary cell is a scheduling cell and the primary cell is a scheduled cell (e.g., cross-carrier scheduling). The UE may monitor control channel candidates of search spaces on the primary cell and on the secondary cell for downlink control information messages scheduling data transmissions with the primary cell. In some examples, the cross-carrier scheduled communications may be configured according to a scheduling configuration, which may include one or more scheduling constraints.

Techniques for cross-carrier scheduling from a secondary cell to a primary cell

Some aspects described herein relate to receiving, from a base station, a configuration to transmit uplink signaling to the base station, determining, based on the configuration, to setup a group for sidelink communication with one or more other user equipments (UEs), transmitting, based on determining to setup the group, a first uplink message based on the configuration from the base station, and receiving, from the one or more other UEs, a second uplink message based on the configuration to indicate setup of the group. Some aspects described herein also relate to conflict avoidance between sidelink and uplink/downlink communications.

Wireless communications systems and methods related to joint-carrier scheduling using a single downlink control information (DCI) signal. The user equipment (UE) receives from a base station (BS) of a first serving cell, a downlink control information (DCI) that indicates a joint-carrier scheduling scheme. Using the joint-carrier scheduling scheme in the DCI, the UE schedules first data for communication on a first shared channel associated with the first serving cell and second data for communication on a second shared channel associated with a second serving cell.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for uplink scheduling for communication on an uplink from a user equipment (UE) to a base station (BS). The uplink scheduling is based on uplink transmission (UL Tx) switching time and/or uplink data preparation time of the UE. The uplink data preparation time is calculated based on the UL Tx switching time. For example, a UE can report to a BS at least one of an indication of a UL Tx switching time and an uplink data preparation time of the UE. In return, the UE can receive an indication of uplink scheduling from the BS, which the UE can use to communicate with the BS.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems (e.g., non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems), a base station may serve a large number of user equipments (UEs) on the uplink. To improve detectability for these uplink transmissions (e.g., if reference signals are not available for the transmissions), the UEs may implement parallel transmissions of preambles with uplink data. A UE may split the uplink data into one or more data layers, and may select one or more preamble layers to transmit superposed with the data layers. These preambles may be sequences known to both the UE and the base station to aid in detectability. The UE may assign different signature sequences to each of these layers based on cross-correlation values (e.g., assigning sequences with higher cross-correlation values to the data layers for improved detectability), and may scramble the layers into a single shared signal for transmission.

A UE may determine a number of antenna ports associated with a frequency band that includes one or more CCs. The determined number of antenna ports may be based on a plurality of UL Tx chains for the one or more CCs/frequency band. The UE may switch from a first UL Tx chain to a second UL Tx chain, at least one of which may be associated with the one or more CCs/frequency band. The number of antenna ports may correspond to a maximum number of antenna ports of an individual CC of the one or more CCs, or to a sum of antenna ports of the one or more CCs. For the latter, the number of antenna ports may be limited to an available number of UE antenna ports when the sum of antenna ports is greater than the available number of UE antenna ports.

The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for wireless communication at a wireless device of a wireless wearable device. In one aspect, the wireless device may transmit a first report based on one of a location of the wireless wearable device, a time period, or reception of a user-controlled indication to transmit the first report. The wireless device may also receive, based on the transmitted first report, a configuration to switch from a first mode to a second mode. In some aspects, the configuration can include at least one parameter associated with a power savings at the wireless wearable device while in the second mode. Random access channel (RACH) occasions may be scheduled on each component carrier (CC) of a carrier aggregation (CA) configuration that includes both a time division duplexing (TDD) TD Raid band and at least one frequency division duplexing (FDD) band based on a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block (SSB) received in the TDD band. In some cases, the TDD band may be used to configure the RACH occasions in same and/or different CCs. Additionally or alternatively, the FDD band may configure the RACH occasions on its uplink CC based on SSBs received on other CCs. Additionally, the RACH occasions may be configured such that the UE avoids unavailable uplink slots when transmitting a first RACH message in a RACH occasion.

Idle discontinuous reception (I-DRX) cycles at a user equipment (UE) may be extended via leveraging of paging assistance from a second UE. For example, a low complexity UE may have a connection to a network (e.g., via a link to a base station) as well as a connection to another UE (e.g., via a device-to-device link to a regular UE). In cases where such a low complexity UE receives paging messages from the network, a UE associated with a device-to-device link of the low complexity UE may monitor paging messages on behalf of the low complexity UE. As such, the low complexity UE may extend its I-DRX cycle, as the assisting UE monitors paging information for the low complexity UE. The assisting UE may forward paging information for the low complexity UE according to paging occasions of the extended I-DRX cycle of the low complexity UE.
