Case for an electrical meter

A device for performing electrical measurements according to the present disclosure includes a first input post that is electrically conducting, a second input post that is electrically conducting, and a sleeve that is electrically insulating and at least partially surrounds the first input post and the second input post. The sleeve includes a first rib extending in a longitudinal direction of the sleeve and a second rib extending in the longitudinal direction of the sleeve. The first rib and the second rib are constructed to separate the first input post and the second input post.

An electronic measuring device includes a main printed circuit assembly and one or more channel modules. At least one channel module includes a channel printed circuit board and a first insulating housing that defines a cavity covering at least part of electrical elements mounted on the channel printed circuit board. A first conductive shielding frame is placed on the first insulating housing and is separated from the channel printed circuit board by the first insulating housing. The first conductive shielding frame covers the electrical elements mounted on the channel printed circuit board. A second insulating housing sandwiches the first conductive shielding frame between the second insulating housing and the first insulating housing which lengthens an electrical path from the first conductive shielding frame to the channel printed circuit board.

The housing, shield, and core of the clamp jaw assembly are configured to provide an extended creepage and clearance path from an exterior of the housing to a surface of the core.

A method of manufacturing a clamp jaw assembly for a clamp meter is provided. The method includes providing a clamp jaw core and a shield having a channel. The method further includes positioning the clamp jaw core within the channel of the shield such that the shield surrounds a portion of the clamp jaw core. The method also includes enclosing the clamp jaw core and the shield within a clamp jaw housing.
