The present application relates to wireless devices and components including apparatus, systems, and methods for time-domain resource allocation for configured grant transmissions in New Radio (NR) systems operating on unlicensed spectrum. In some embodiments, a user equipment may be configured with periodicity, bitmap information, duration information, or slot-offset information to facilitate the time-domain resource allocation.

Additionally, embodiments provide techniques for channel multiplexing of control and data transmission for system operating above 52.6 GHz carrier frequency. The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for transmitting a signal, comprising: selecting a starting position of the signal from a set of candidate starting positions for transmitting the signal; determining a symbol mapping of the signal based on a selected starting position or a set of candidate starting positions of the signal; and transmitting the signal is based on the symbol mapping. The embodiment of the invention also provides a corresponding apparatus.

Methods and apparatuses for transmitting signal

A generation node B (gNB) for a fifth-generation (5G) new radio (NR) or a sixth-generation (6G) network is configured for slot-less operation at frequencies above a 52.6 GHz carrier frequency. The gNB may generate signalling to configure a user equipment (UE) with a gap between demodulation reference signal (DMRS) symbols for an associated physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). The gNB may also encode the DMRS symbols for transmission in accordance with the gap and may encode the associated PDSCH for transmission during the gap between the DMRS symbol transmissions at symbol times following the DMRS symbols.

The present application discloses methods performed by a UE and a base station in a wireless communication system. A method performed by the UE includes receiving, from a base station, via higher layer signaling, one or more configurations for sounding reference signal (SRS) resources; receiving, from the base station, control information triggering a transmission of an aperiodic SRS, wherein the control information indicates a configuration among the one or more configurations for the SRS resources; and transmitting, to the base station, the aperiodic SRS based on the configuration.

Method and user equipment for transmitting and receiving sounding reference signals

A user equipment (UE) configured for operation in a sixth generation (6G) network may perform a random access channel (RACH) procedure with a generation node B (gNB). The UE may encode a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble for transmission in a PRACH occasion (RO) For carrier frequencies above 52.6 GHz, the UE may determine a Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) (i.e., either a RA-RNTI or a MsgB-RNTI) based on an index of the PRACH occasion RO index. The UE may also decode a response from the gNB that includes the RNTI. The UE may determine the RNTI based on the RO index in a time domain and the RO index in a frequency domain.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses disclosed herein can operate on an unlicensed spectrum. These systems, methods, and apparatuses can perform a first listen-before-talk (LBT) operation of a LBT protocol in a first slot from among multiple slots to determine whether the unlicensed spectrum is unoccupied. Thereafter, these systems, methods, and apparatuses can transmit an uplink (UL) transmission in other slots from among the plurality of slots in response to the unlicensed spectrum being unoccupied. Otherwise, these systems, methods, and apparatuses can perform a second LBT operation in a second slot from among the plurality of slots in response to the unlicensed spectrum being occupied.

Grant based physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission and configured grant based PUSCH transmission in new radio (NR) systems operating on unlicensed spectrum

Provided is a pre-5-Generation (5g) or 5G communication system for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4-Generation (4g) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). The present disclosure provides a method performed by a base station in a wireless communication system. The method includes determining at least one energy detection threshold for sensing based on a signal to be transmitted; identifying a detected power corresponding to a channel of an unlicensed band; determining whether the channel is idle based on the detected power and the at least one energy detection threshold; and transmitting the signal to a user equipment (UE) on the channel based on a determination that the channel is idle. The at least one energy detection threshold corresponds to the signal to be transmitted including a first signal or a second signal, and the second signal includes at least one discovery signal, and the first signal is different from the second signal.

Method and apparatus for transmitting data

A generation-Node B (gNB) configured for unlicensed spectrum operation above 52.6 GHz in a fifth-generation new-radio (NR) system (5GS) may encode a parameter (e.g., ssb-PositionsInBurst) for transmission to a UE (e.g., in the SIB1 or UE specific RRC signalling). The parameter may indicate candidate positions of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) within a discovery reference signal (DRS) measurement timing configuration (DMTC) transmission window within slots of a system frame (SFN). During the DMTC window, the gNB may perform a LBT procedure on an unlicensed carrier of the unlicensed spectrum to determine if the unlicensed carrier is available. When the LBT is successful (i.e., the unlicensed carrier is available), the gNB may encode a discovery reference signal (DRS) for transmission on the unlicensed carrier. The DRS may include one or more of the SSBs transmitted during the candidate positions that fall within the DRS. The gNB may perform rate matching around the SSBs for a scheduled PDSCH based on the indicated parameter and transmit the rate-matched PDSCH.

A method of a user equipment (UE) performing cell re-selection in New Radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) idle mode includes performing cell re-selection associated with a selected public land mobile network (PLMN) in New Radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) idle mode. Performing cell re-selection in NR-U idle mode further comprises determining a best cell associated with the selected PLMN based on one or more measurements. At least one of the one or more measurements may comprise a channel occupancy measurement. Performing cell re-selection in NR-U idle mode further comprises camping on the best cell and periodically searching for cells that are determined to be better than the best cell based on the one or more measurements.

Method and apparatus for listen-before-talk (LBT) related operation in a wireless communication system using unlicensed band

The present invention provides an uplink control information transmitting method and apparatus. In the method, when a user equipment (UE) is configured with an uplink carrier in an unlicensed spectrum, the UE transmits uplink control information through a pre-defined location and a pre-defined format in a licensed spectrum and/or a pre-defined location and a pre-defined format in an idle unlicensed spectrum according to an uplink (UL) grant transmitted from a base station and the UCI to be transmitted. According to the technical solution provided by the present invention, the UCI is flexibly transmitted in the licensed spectrum or in the idle unlicensed spectrum, thereby improving transmission efficiency and reducing impact on downlink signal scheduling when the UE is configured with the uplink carrier in the unlicensed spectrum and transmits the UCI, and further improving LTE network efficiency.

Uplink control information transmitting method and apparatus

Systems and methods for downlink transmission using a wideband unlicensed band carrier in 5G networks are described. The gNB determines, based on LBT, which LBT subchannel(s) in a BWP are available during a COT. The gNB transmits an indication of the available subchannels in DCI format 2_0 of a GC-PDCCH of one of the available subchannels and subsequently transmits a PDSCH using the available subchannel(s). The gNB may configure multiple opportunities during the COT and transmit the GC-PDCCH after the initial opportunity. The PDSCH is transmitted on all available subchannels during the COT and, during an initial portion of the COT, may transmit the PDSCH by puncturing symbols of the unavailable subchannels. The indication may include a bitmap of available subchannels or if the LBT outcome is not available, may indicate all or none of the subchannels or available or that the outcome is not available.
