An embodiment of the present invention provides a photodetector chip, including a substrate, a semiconductor optical amplification section, and a photodetection section. The substrate includes a surface, the photodetection section and the semiconductor optical amplification section are arranged on the substrate, and the photodetection section is located in an optical signal output direction of the semiconductor optical amplification section. The semiconductor optical amplification section amplifies and filters an input optical signal to output an amplified and filtered optical signal to the photodetection section. The photodetection section is configured to convert the amplified and filtered optical signal into an electrical signal. The semiconductor optical amplification section includes a grating, the grating includes a first grating and a second grating that are cascaded, and the first grating is a slanted grating. The first grating and the second grating are configured to filter an optical signal entering the semiconductor optical amplification section.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a crosstalk suppression method and apparatus. By obtaining a first electrical signal indicating a data bit stream of a first optical signal output by a laser diode (LD) in an optical transceiver module and a transmission parameter of a photodiode (PD), adjusting the first electrical signal based on the transmission parameter of the PD to obtain a third electrical signal indicating an electrical signal transformed by the PD from the first optical signal transmitted by the LD, and subtracting the third electrical signal from a second electrical signal output by the PD in the optical transceiver module, an electrical signal generated by the optical signal transmitted by the LD and reflected or refracted to the PD is removed from the electrical signal output by the PD, thereby suppressing crosstalk and improving the sensitivity of the optical transceiver module.

The method includes: generating a Physical Layer Operation Administration Maintenance (PLOAM) message that includes an identifier of at least one ONU to be measured and information about a time bucket that is allocated to the ONU to be measured and is used for sending upstream optical signals; sending the PLOAM message to the multiple ONUs; receiving the upstream optical signals that are sent, in the allocated time bucket, by the ONU to be measured; and detecting the received upstream optical signals, and determining the optical power of the upstream optical signals. The present invention avoid waste of bandwidth caused in the prior art when the DBA is required to allocate bandwidth to the ONU to be measured for the purpose of detecting the optical power.

The present disclosure relates to a passive optical network (PON) and provides a method for maintaining the PON, the optical network unit (ONU), and the optical line terminal (OLT) to solve the problem of the ONU being in a constant light emitting state. The method of the present disclosure allows the OLT to determine whether the continuous seizure time of an upstream channel exceeds the preset threshold, and if so, detect the failed ONU that continuously seizes the upstream channel and use a control message or control signal to instruct the failed ONU to turn off power supply to its transmitting circuit.
