Various schemes pertaining to generating an output image using hybrid motion-compensated fusion techniques are described. An apparatus receives multi-frame data comprising a plurality of images consecutively captured. The apparatus subsequently generates a first intermediate image and a second intermediate image by performing temporal fusion on a first part and a second part of the multi-frame data, respectively. The apparatus further generates the output image using motion-compensated fusion based on the first and second intermediate images. The apparatus provides benefits of efficiently reducing noise and blurriness in the output image.

Image noise and blurriness reduction

An image processing device is provided. The device includes an electronic image stabilization (EIS) module and an image signal processing (ISP) module. The EIS module is configured to determine EIS information for a video frame based on motion information that corresponds to the video frame, wherein the EIS information is associated with the target region and the margin region of the video frame. The ISP module is configured to generate a processed video frame based on the EIS information by performing an ISP process only on the target region of the video frame and skipping the ISP process on the margin region of the video frame. The EIS module is further configured to generate a stabilized image based on the EIS information and the processed video frame.

Electronic image stabilization device and method thereof

An image processing method is provided. The method includes the step of comparing each of the input pixels in an input image to a corresponding buffered pixel in a buffered image, and computing the difference value between the input pixel value of the input pixel and the buffered pixel value of the buffered pixel. The method further includes the step of generating a blended image based on the input pixel values and the corresponding difference values. The method further includes the step of determining whether a criterion associated with the difference value is met, for each of the difference values. The method further includes the step of updating, for each of the buffered pixels in the buffered image, the buffered pixel value based on the corresponding input pixel value if the criterion is met, and keeping the buffered pixel value unchanged if the criterion is not met.

Various schemes pertaining to generating a full-frame color image using a hybrid sensor are described. An apparatus receives sensor data from the hybrid sensor, wherein the sensor data includes partial-frame chromatic data of a plurality of chromatic channels and partial-frame color-insensitive data. The apparatus subsequently generates full-frame color-insensitive data based on the partial-frame color-insensitive data. The apparatus subsequently generates the full-frame color image based on the full-frame color-insensitive data and the partial-frame chromatic data. The apparatus provides benefits of enhancing image quality of the full-frame color image especially under low light conditions.

High sensitivity color image generation using hybrid sensor

A video capture method includes: controlling an image sensor to capture a plurality of first sensor output frames at a first frame rate during a first period; during the first period, checking if a motion blur condition is met; in response to the motion blur condition being met during the first period, controlling the image sensor to capture a plurality of second sensor output frames at a second frame rate during a second period following the first period, wherein the second frame rate is higher than the first frame rate; and processing consecutive sensor output frames captured by the image sensor during the first period and the second period, to generate a plurality of output frames.

An electronic image stabilization (EIS) method includes: obtaining video frames derived from an output of an image sensor, wherein each of the video frames has a full field of view (FOV) of the image sensor; obtaining motion information of the video frames; dynamically estimating, by a processing circuit, EIS margins according to FOV variation of a plurality of cropped images within the video frames respectively; and applying stabilization correction to the cropped images according to the motion information and the EIS margins, to generate a plurality of stabilized images.

Video decoding device is disclosed. The video decoding device comprises a demultiplexer, a first decoder and a controller. The demultiplexer receives a Transport Stream to recover video Packetized Elementary Stream (PES) to determine a presentation time stamp (PTS) and a decoding time stamp (DTS) in a PES header of the PES. The first decoder retrieves a video frame from the video PES to determine temporal reference of the video frame. The controller receives the PTS, the DTS, and the temporal reference to determine whether there is a missing video frame.
